eBay -Everyone Has 100% Feedback

even if you stabbed the buyer or seller with a homemade knife while they are nursing their cute but sickly baby it seems that you will have 100% feedback.

what's the point?

bring back neg feedback for buyers.

What I'd like to see is eBay charge a small fee to be kept in escrow that is forfeited by the winning buyer if they fail to pay. I suspect that in one case a buyer used a sockpuppet account to outbid himself to get out of his high bid, then this sockpuppet was never heard from again. Had a fake delivery address too.

But it will never happen, eBay is skewed towards the buyers.

because sellers retaliate when they get bad feedback from buyers, even when the buyer did the right thing and paid on time.

The only neg with a buyer is not paying for an item or taking too long to pay.
I believe ebay gaves your 3 strikes.

Maybe ebay should come up with a average pay time or lack of payment for all users then you can judge to see if
    they are a bad buyers.

It'll be hard to prevent ppl from buying if it's "buy it now" or if they bid in the last min. though.

I received a lens that had a scratch on the front element. I complained to the seller and got a negative feedback

Sellers get treated like trash on eBay. Especially with the fee structure. Pay once for selling the item on eBay, pay again for accepting money on Paypal, then lose 5 business days worth of interest as they transfer the money from Paypal to your bank account at a glacial pace.

    NB - eBay own Paypal

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet.

On ebay, it's IMPOSSIBLE to give a buyer negative feedback, it simply won't let you. There's no button for negative feedback, if the buyer is an ass the worst you can do is give positive feedback but say something nasty in the comments.

but then again, most people only look at the negatives

I used to love the negative feedback for buyer.

        buyer late in paying.
buyer did not respond to 5 emails.
buyer provided wrong delivery address and expecets me to pay for postage.
        buyer spelt my name wrong.

you used to be able to give negative feedback to buyers

  • even if you stabbed the buyer or seller with a homemade knife while they are nursing their cute but sickly baby it seems that you will have 100% feedback.

Well if they're dead, how are they meant to leave you feedback?

And yeah, eBay/PayPal scum really shaft sellers with all the BS fees.
It's as though their fees come out of nowhere. They really do their best to hide it especially by delaying the payment.

    • Well if they're dead, how are they meant to leave you feedback?

      funny story about that
Think it was a ebay DVD store, had heaps of feedback about 10k + and one day, the seller had an influx of negative reviews(as in mainly positives until one day, the rest were just negative)
Apparently the seller, died or went into a coma

these days even if you had a proxy to let everyone know the seller had died and refunded all…. he'd/she'd probably still get neg feedback.
"SELLER DIED. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. BUYERS BEWARE!"

then again i probably wouldnt want to give pos feedback either:
"AAA++++++++++ WILL DEAL AGAN IN FUTURE""

Maybe eBay will implement a "Relist in your next life" button. :)

  • Ebay sucks, but they have a monopoly in Australia. Sellers don't have a choice but to use ebay. Try listing on any other auction site like quicksales.com.au , and you will get half the price you'd otherwise get on ebay, if you're lucky.

Who's going to provide a true alternative to ebay? Maybe ozbargain can start it??

wrong target market I think. We're all tightarses.

As an eBay seller, I pretty much pay the bills off the chumps who pay over the odds for stuff so they can 'win' the bidding war.

Makes me wonder who's more stupid. Them for paying over the odds, or me for getting robbed blind by feebay and knowing it the whole time.

i was looking at ozgameshops feedback on ebay, as i was buying a bluetooth headset for my ps3 and i was amazed literally that someone has the gall to leave negative feedback with just "thanks"

thankfully, Ive only had 1 person leave me neutral feedback after a transaction, as a wii game I sold came back with smudges galore on it, when i sold it open but new, dont really need to get into the he says she says bullshit, so just offered a refund and sold it to someone else lol

  • Ebay… simple as this.. If it's over $10 then go to a shop and buy it. may not be cheaper but at least you will get something for your money.

I have always thought feedback could be doctored? I did see a long time ago a bad trader re-appear under another name. S'pose that is common?

I laugh when I see someone crying… waaahhh, got screwed for $????.00 on Ebay… Deserved it!
