If you are someone, like me, who has to get these certifications for work; you save $70.

Also, I don't know much about SalesForce so just wanted to know what it was in a few dot points and why something like this would be beneficial?
Now that I work for a Salesforce company, they do pay for it (though always happy for me to get them a discount on the price too!)
Ultimately if you are looking for a job in Salesforce, a Salesforce partner, or any company with Salesforce deployed; it's great to have certifications to show you know what you are doing. There's tonnes to learn free online, but the certification process is where the cost is.
If you are working on SFDC platform and are keen to pursue some SF certifications, this will be handy..
