  • I think the small one $64 is better we have iPad mini already to watch youtube

      i have gh mini , and i don't see the use of the 4" smart clock

      youtube = free music , without paying for subscription

        I've replaced my bedside mini with the smart clock - love the fact that it's actually a clock as well. Have it cycling through dog pictures during the day, and it's a clear but unobtrusive clock at night. It doesn't add a tonne of features, but little quality-of-life improvements that make it worth it for me.

  • Can I use this with home assistant instead of google/nest home hub?

      this has home assistant built in

    • Should be able to cast home assistant to it

    @phunky (because I evidently can't reply properly):

    Nah, you're thinking of Google assistant.

    Although, if it has a Web browser it could access HA instance that way.

    I'm really interested in this, but could someone please tell me, is it possible to download apps (like abc iview) on this device and tell it to play abc iview? Or is it restricted to only a few apps?

    Thank you!

    EDIT

    (Also office works has it on clearance for $199 - https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-sma…)

      It has no apps - it's a different concept to a tablet. Take a look at YouTube reviews of the Google Home Hub to get an idea of the use cases. They do have a Chromecast built-in as well. I have had one since it first came out and love the FHD IPS screen. Don't expect much from the speaker though.

  • I wonder what represents the best value - this at $199 (unquestionably, the best screen on a Smart display), JBL Link View at $235 (best sound), or Next Hub Max at $271 (best overall - or is it?).
