this one doesn't come with Vodafone $30 starter kit, right?

    • +1

Why would it not? It's a regular Vodafone A20 bundle like ALL the Others.

        • +15

I'm sorry I did not "meet your expectation" here, like yourself.

I am not 100% sure, but more than 80% without spending much more time reading/googling

and then not being 100% sure till I buy one, even then stock may vary between stores and batches.

        • +6

          Wow, entitled attitude much?

        • +2

We expect common sense and courtesy but you never seem to provide that, funny that ey?

    • +3

Yes just picked up and included is the $30 starter pack 👍

    • +3

italics make no sense the way youve used them

  • +1

    Not locked i guess?

    • +7

      Locked to Vodafone.

Find unlocking instruction in previous deal post for Samsung Galaxy A20

      • Some have newer bootloader versions. Can these also be unlocked?

    • I got mine today, tried with kogan sim and it worked

      • Unlocked on voda website, entered imei n unlock code displayed straight away

  • just comparing to my galaxy s7 which i got at launch, the s7 specs are still better according to GSM arena….whats the deal?

    • +8

Samsung S Range are flagship phones.
Samsung A Range are budget phones.

    • +1

I completely agree, I bought an as new s7 instead of purchasing an A20 for just slightly more than this deal as it has better overall specs and supports Wi-Fi calling with Optus when B28 isn't enough.

      • +1

        A20 also supports Wifi calling.

      • Isn't the S7 about 3x-4x this price? I mean, S7 is a better phone.

    • +2

Yea the S7 is still overall a better phone than the A20 in pretty much everything including screen, cameras, CPU and even GPU

Approx Geekbench scores (incase you don't understand - Higher number is faster 😁)
      S7: 5300
      A20: 3450

Approx Antutu scores (Same thing - Higher is faster)
      S7: 150K
      A20: 90K

Only real advantages I would see over the S7 is:
      - Full screen design (Smaller bezels)
      - Bigger screen
      - One UI support (Android 9)

      • Hi Zacheroo …
Would you be able to tell me PLEASE :
The Samsung A20 from Telstra deal has a
Blue tick ( good for country uses )
Would the same specs applies to the Vodaphone 'one ????🤔
Thanks ,in anticipation of prompt response…🙏🙏🙏

        • +1

I'll have a stab at answering your question, but don't hold me to it.

To get the Telstra "Blue Tick" a phone would have all the current bands used/needed, but would also have to have a quality modem and antennas as well as tuned software working nicely together.

So, once unlocked and with a Vodafone sim inserted, as this also includes all Voda. bands and would use all other hardware, phone should function as good as it can depending on the Network.

The only thing that could/might get in the way is the Telsta Software ( unless you unlocked bootlaoder and flashed O/S ), and they have been known to make life hard if switching providers or using unlocked hardware ( even if it is hardware capable with B28 ).

Try calling Officeworks on 1300 OFFICE and ask for price beat. Although they are selling the unlocked version for $277, they did the price beat for few customers. Tell them it is on Australia Post catalogue (first page) for $159.

    • +2

Why the downvotes? Isn't it worth trying?

      • +1

Don't waste ya time trying to pricematch with luck, just buy it from Target.

        • +1

More people price match this at Officeworks means more stock for people who wants to go direct to target. Win for more people!

  • +1

If this is locked to Vodafone, can I still use this mobile overseas with a sim card from Indonesia etc?

    • +3

      no

  • +6

target 5% gift card can make it even sweeter

    • Where can we currently get these for 5% discount?

      • +1

i have racq account so usually get from there, Other members have do it through suncorp i think. have a search of the forum there are a couple more places i think

        • Great, thanks. I have NRMA membership, so that might work. Will do a bit of digging.

  • Bought 2 last week for $199 each from Parra, NSW lol. Both box opened now.

    • +3

Just Enjoy ( using them I mean ).

    • -3

purchased another two and return those new ones with old receipt, unless serial number not in receipt…

  • +1

    Anything good for $1?

  • +1

If I use this overseas do I still need.to unlock it?

    • +2

      Yes

    • Yes. If it doesn't unlock for free via Vodafone website, call them and say you are going overseas and want to unlock the phone. Otherwise use the online chat and request that way.

      • Do they unlock it for free?

  • +1

Promo code not valid for item in your basket.

Have tried multiple times on different devices. Am using link on ozb so product is correct.

    What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Just realised you also need to buy another product for at least $1.

  • Promo code not working

    • +1

did you add a $1 item?

      • Thanks.. all good now

  • I'm a moron - where do you enter the promo code?

    • +1

No you are not. i missed it as well. You need press teh arrow down on the same page it asks payment method.
Stupid are the developers and users that try and make eerything 1 click and give no choice to the user because they assume we are (profanity) retarted morons. Buy librem 5 phone and liberate liberate liberate f

      • -3

        You're both morons

        • In my defense, I did preface my comment with that.

  • +2

    got it for 149

I bought a 2 dollar additonal item but there was no stock so target refunded me 2 dollars..

    • What was the $2 item?

      • clearance earrings work.

        • +2

I was hoping to add the same out of stock item. lol

  • +3

Thanks OP! Got it for $142.50 thanks to Suncorp rewards.

    • +1

      Sold. Gunna do the same….

    • same. bargain.

    • just did the same - 50off coupon + 3*$50 target giftcards (they were out of $100 apparently) for the phone + party cups C&C for $142.50. The target site worked pretty flawlessly. I don't have insurance with suncrorp anymore (switched to nrma for a massive new customer discount) yet I still have suncorp rewards access which was a nice surprise!

  • Thanks for the heads up OP. Got one as already with Voda 👍

  • Will it work with kogan sim (i think they're using voda backbone)

    • +2

      Yes

  • will this work on TPG mobile?

  • I just bought one from Carlingford, there were 2 left after my purchase.

    • how's the IMEI numbers on them?
      specifically these 2 digits: 35677610 XX 12345

      • +1

I didn't check the 2 that were in the display case. The phone I bought has 25 as the XX digits

        • +1

no free unlock on voda website :(

        • Pretty much all 25s now.

        • I can confirm using this process I was able to unlock my A20. You need a windows machine as the .exe's don't work on MacBooks. When the A20 is connected to the Windows machine, don't worry about selecting a connection option (Transfer files/Transfer photos/MIDI) on the phone, as selecting an option interrupted the unlock process for me.

  • Just purchased and checked the IMEI on the Vodafone unlock web site but it comes up

    IMEI Not Found

The handset serial number you entered was not found on the system. Please check that you have entered the number correctly.

I have done it a few times but same response, do you need to activate the phone before it comes up ?
Sorry old person not much tec knowledge

    Cheers

    • +1

      call them

    • +1

Sounds like it is unlocked! Check other operators please!

      • +1

Unfortunately locked tried other SIM card

        • +1

When you encountered "Imei Not Found", go on Vodafone chat and they will send you an email with the free unlocking code and procedure.

          • @slowFTL: Tried that but they couldn’t help said I would have to msg via the website
and someone would get back to me in 48 hours . Will see what happens

    • +1

They will upload the imei code on the website within 48 hrs after your query.

      • Bingo tried again on website and free unlock

Also a friends unlocked free now b4 was going to be $50

  • +1

    What colour is the phone?

  • Would this phone be good for Pokemon Go, or would it struggle a bit?

  • Can somebody please confirm - FoneFunShop.com for the unlock?

  • -2

    It's $10 less each week.
I'm gonna wait til xmas, when VF pays YOU!

  • Would the unlock method for the Vodafone work for the Optus A30? Tempted to get that at $250.

  • +6

I confirm that I successfully unlocked 2 of these phones (bought from recent AUSPOST deal) with FoneFunShop.com . The cost is GBP 3.00, you can use the Coupon TREAT for a 13% discount.

  • +1
