Hi all,

This deal won’t appeal to everyone but it did for me and let me explain.

Until tomorrow, EB have a promotion that if you trade your current Xbox X console and any 2 games (nba2k14 and titanfall $4ea) you can get this bundle for $99. Which includes Gears 5 Ultimate, Forza Horizon 4 and also the new Call of Duty. Fantastic value especially if you were considering getting COD and you get a brand new console with new warranty.

Now I went one better here as follows:

Gear 5 is on gamepass so I sold the code on Ebay for $70
Forza Horizon 4 also on gamepass sold this for $40
Gears 5 themed controller didn’t need this sold for $60
COD I already had it so also sold for $60

Add in a new console with a brand new warranty and it’s a win/win.

This is an unadvertised promotion and if interested you will need to ask for the Xbox X + 2 games promo trade deal.

    Unfortunately ebgames Queanbeyan don’t have this deal and there is nothing on their ‘intranet’. Might just be local deal. Damn.

      Definitely nation wide. Most of the staff are unaware of trade promos and usually just type consoles in on another trade screen.

    To get this deal you would have to trade old controller in so you couldn't just sell the remote unless you had a spare.

    Also where could you buy these cheap games.

      Good value if you want the new CoD since you can sell the other 2 included games and you are getting a brand new Xbox One X and brand new controller so you have no wear on the hardware and a fresh warranty period.

        Might be a scammer, same thing happened to me last 2 times I sold digital game on eBay, they did a charge back after a few days and I lost game code and money

          If people do that to you, you need to actually send the code in the mail with tracking that way when PayPal asks you for proof, you’ve got it.

          Yeah I've only sold 2 digital games on eBay but both scammed. Wanted to get this deal but don't want to bother selling those 2 games since I already own Forza digital and gears is on game pass

        Did you send the code digitally via email or ebay message? I've been scammed from international buyers. Within couple of months they will submit a chargeback with their bank, which in turn will chargeback from PayPal and PayPal will chargeback from you.

        You are not covered by PayPal buyer protection for a digital item. You can say goodbye to those $70.

        why not sell the code locally via gumtree or facebook etc..

        at least they can't do a chargeback if paid in cash etc..

    So I rang another store they said there is a one X trade deal but on the system it said. Onex plus 2 games and $100 for a standard Onex and she was like that's sounds wrong but can't check.

          Maybe ring and ask for the trade promos towards the gears x console without asking for actual trade price.

          Refer them to the ‘B Line’ then console trade promotions.

              One you have trade in prices for towards purchases in store.

              Then you have trade in promotions where you trade a console towards another console and you usually get more than option 1.

                @spuderump: Again commonsense man I'm not gonna call up a store asking about trade in prices. I'm gonna specifically ask about the promotion. I've explained it in more detail then any person should have to and not one store could find a thing.

                You mention a few other people have found it. Would love to see some people confirm this still exists but I don't see it happening unless it's State specific because I've called stores that have it in stock and ones that don't

    DONT SELL CODES ON EBAY

    Youre not covered for digital goods and will be robbed 99% of the time by credit card chargeback.

    If you sell on eBay you must POST the code so it's a physical good. Make it clear you're selling a bit of paper not a digital code. Use registered post. Then cross your fingers ebay is fair to you if something still happens

    Has anyone ever had any luck swapping the platform of a game in a EB bundle? I'm guessing it won't be possible as there'll be some agreement between Microsoft and Activision to cop the loss, but I'm hoping to get the PS4 version of COD.

    So, if I'm not mistaken, trade in a console you bought (likely for more than $480) with 2 games (that you would've paid at least $60 each for) ~or $600 value - just so you get get the same thing again, with a different paintjob, one newer game AND pay another $99 on top of your own money??

    I know I know…people will tell me 'EB is a business' and this is of course a 'means to make a profit'. I just see these sorts of deals a complete rip offs.

    One of my fave games from 2015 (Metal Gear Solid V) is worth $4 or less trade in. Same price if it still has the seal on it! HILARIOUS.

      Well, I actually see it as paying $109 ($99+$10 for preowned games) to renew console warranty, get a limited edition console (which holds more value imho), get a new game that's worth atleast $50 and in your case (If you want), a way to get $10, instead of $4 or less, for your beloved MGS V.

      As OP said, not an appealing deal for everyone, but it's still a great way to get rid of your old XB1X and resell the lot for much more (as OP has broken down up there).
