Where to Buy Cheap Paint?

Hi all,

I'm planning on doing some painting on my house soon (full house inside including ceiling), and wondering where to get cheap paint? In the past I've just paid Bunnings prices for 10L, but looking for a cheap source as I'm painting more than just a small room.

Not really looking for cheap quality stuff, rather a cheap way of getting Dulux, Wattyl, etc.

Thanks :)

  • Check out Mitre 10. My local stocks a cheap paint brand "Pascol" which is just rebadged Wattyl apparently.

      Wattyl they think of next?

    • I vaguely remember seeing Pascol at Masters back in the day.

Will have to check out a Mitre10

If you want Dulux, go to a Dulux store and ask for a quote. They'll usually do a better price than just buying it straight up. Paint is still expensive though.

    • Are those the Dulux Trade centres? Are they open to public as well?

      • Yes

    • This goes for most trade centres. Most will sell to the DIYer as well and will often give better prices if asked, especially for larger quantities. Don't go early in the morning or from around 3pm as they're times they tend to be busy with actual tradies picking up supplies for the day/next day.

Buy a decent brush or roller expensive paint and a $2 brush just don’t cut it !!

  • Keep an eye out for 'mistints'.
They are sold at cheaper rates because they have already been coloured but not sold for whatever reason. Yes, you might struggle to find sufficient quantities given whole house, but might find tins big enough for each room in different colours.

  • Was in Bristol Paints the other day giving me very competitive prices they ended up fixing us up with a painter hopefully it will all workout.

    I'd also look at auctions here's one current bid $2 a liter + 16.5% ATM https://www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx?smode=0&aid=…
