Kathmandu Bealey Men's GORE-TEX Jacket $136 Delivered (RRP $399.98) @ Kathmandu

1910

Kathmandu have an extra 20% off clearance rain jackets at the moment, bringing this fitted jacket from $399.98 down to $136. Add the amex $15 cashback (ends tonight) to bring it down to $121.

Normally not a huge fan of Kathmandu gear from the price, but $121 for a Gore-tex jacket delivered isn’t too bad in my book. Pitty the green is sold out in most sizes, but can’t go wrong with grey.

      • you even commented about this jacket on an airpod post, saying it sucked, you must really hate kathmandu gore-tex..how is it a failure? or have you done extensive field testing compared to the other brands to have a fact based objective opinion…right?

I've only done Two expeditions to Cho Oyu and One to island peak so far.

Guides have the most experience and sherpas. However, I've been extremely fortunate to have a close friendship with many of them and they share advice, even equipment lists. I'd suggest you to reach out and ask
some of them if you're unsure of something.

          Is this a jacket? Yes.
Will it do 99.999% of this community? Yes.
Should it be marketed as mountaineering clothing? No.

@[Deactivated]: It's not marketed as a mountaineering jacket though? And anyone serious about it would know that, I don't think anyone is purchasing this expecting to go on a hard core expedition, even then it would probably hold up.

            Description from site:

@911r: ^^^^ exactly. Not going to Everest base camp with it, but as a shell with insulating layers under it, like a Nano Air, it will do the job for lesser tasks.

Kathmandu just cancelled my order for a small gray one. Thanks for nothing, Kathmandu!

    • Why?

      • Not enough stock to fulfill my order.

    • Let me know if you're still interested in the jacket. I bought a small (only size left when I purchased), but it's too small for me. Looking to sell.

      • Pm sent

  • green is back in stock

  • Picked up mine yesterday, medium sized. Seems quite large? I have other medium sized kathmandu jackets and they seemed to fit me bit not this one. Anyone with same sizing issue?

    • I had the same issue as well. The length is actually much longer than my other jackets (not Kathmandu). Thinking if I should just go ahead with the return….

      • They're longer for a reason.

Like with any technical shell if you're hiking in the wet and don't have adequate layers underneath then that wet shell will conduct cold to your skin.

So generally under this jacket you'll have a mid layer and under that merino thermals in extreme weather. So shells will generally have a large fit to accommodate all the other layers under that.

But hey, as others have said this was never sold as a mountaineering or hiking product 🙄🙄

        • 👏👏👏
