I have been looking to buy a Xiaomi Mi WCJ02ZM 20W Qi Car Wireless Charger Holder when I came across this BlitzWolf version on a Flash Deal at around half the price. This device must be fairly new as I haven't come across it before and I was unable to find much online reviews. But I made the jump anyway as it's BlitzWolf and it also has a suction cup option which the Xiaomi does not.

My total came to AU$21.47 including insurance and GST.

  • Seems decent but also half the output compared to the Xiaomi

You have to be careful with fast chargers in cars - My Note9 overheats while in my QI dock in my car on hot days (especially while streaming or using google maps), even when the aircon is on. I'm thinking 20w might make the problem worse

      • I have had a lot of phones heat up just using maps, I actually think the Qi charging isn't suited to cars in summer with nonremovable batteries, which is basically everything. Also you don't want to be charging your phone when it's already at 100%, especially on long drives. If you keep your phone a long time, I'd argue against it.

Not to mention it's less efficient, although the amount by which people may see as negligible.

      • @too_much_boost are you using a wired or wireless charger? Where is your phone placed?

According to this PC Mag article, trickle charge can cause some heating up and that could lower the phone's lifespan.. Fast charging would heat up the phone even more. But what's not clear to me is how this works with wireless charging.

For instance, my phone heats up sometimes and that could be because it is working hard with maps, my current car mount is on the dashboard exposed to sunlight and/or because I am using a Qi fast charger cable set-up. It would be interesting to see how this changes when I start using a wireless charger (which probably charges slower) mounted on the air vents away from direct sunlight.

    • I'd be interested to know if non-Xiaomi phones like Samsung phones and iphones wirelessly charge at 20w. For instance, I though Samsung phones only supported 10W max, but I haven't been able to get this confirmed.

  • There's a banner in the description showing it for USD$9.99, but I don't think it can be activated while the sale is on - might be better to buy once sale finishes?

You may be right, I tried to enter coupons (BGcw1wb & BGbw1cqii) but they were rejected.
On the other hand, I can find the BW-CW1 only at Banggood as Amazon says "Currently unavailable" and wanted them before Christmas so I wasn't willing to take the risk in case they go out of stock.

  • Would this fit a note 10 plus?

    • The Blitzwolf holder is listed as 103.5mm x 75.3mm x 93mm (see specs above). The SM-N975F is listed as 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm.
Going by width alone, it would be a risky purchase without knowing about how the holder arms work. And then you'd have to see if the hight poses any issues for the wireless charging.

just an fyi, I have one of these and it doesn't really fit my iphone 11 pro max on a spigen ultra hybrid case. The kickstand makes the bottom part of the phone stick out more and hence the wireless charging doesn't work and whilst the phone 'fits' the holder, the actual side/bottom cradle doesn't really securely grip it.

    • I wonder if the issue was the "charging distance", which is the distance between the charging surface and the phone (charging coils?). For this device, it is <8mm.

    • Do you reckon it might do the same with iphone 11 Pro (not max)?

    Thanks OP
