  • I have a Thunder and whilst its still going 5 years, I had issues at 14 months through to snapping springs at 4 years.

Everything was a fight with them, and it took effort and tenacity, good understanding of the acl and time.

Given the cost and a near full rebuild of my vuly via the above I'm not convinced they go the journey for the price. Maybe false economy at $1300(discounted) v $100 bigw job every year for 5-8 years. Have to factor build times though.

  • I nearly punctured my sternum putting mine together. The reviews from people describing their injuries are hilarious. I ended up hiring three students to help. I’ve also gone through a Vuly shade cover every 6 months. I got a large for $700 (bunnings clearance) so can’t complain.

    • Our first shade cover died within a year but they've released a new version which the material is much thicker. Had that on for nearly 12 months now and no signs of wear on it.

I’ve got one of the spring versions.
Not bad and it’s pretty safe, it’s overpriced but not outrageously so. The spring free looked good but the extra cost put me off, plus they seemed not be as bouncy.

The accessories they sell/include however are junk and the price gouging is extreme. Free or not , any covers , tents etc will be in tatters after a few months (esp in Qld).

They’ve removed the references to things being built tough for the Australian sun etc and they’ll now say it’s meant to be temporary and removed after each use. Expect a fight with any warranty issues. We also bought the overpriced mister and I had to replace the O rings after a few months.

Edit: does look like theyve redesigned the covers etc. they now give a decent warranty on them and say they can be left on permanently. At the very least I’d screenshot the claims made in case you hit issues down the track.
