Judging by historical Ozbargain posts for Rapha products, I think it's safe to say that Ozbargain and Rapha are incompatible with each other…

might be for people in the know who can recognise brands of cycle gear, and so status hierarchy, which i can’t and stick to the cheap stuff, though i do spend up on quality suits and pants for the office as i wear those to meetings and interviews, unlike my cycle gear.

one day i will swap my cinzano team cycle jersey to a team uber eats or team deiiveroo.

Imho rapha is associated with elitist cyclist. I remember going to one of their pop up places and was given shit for not having shaved legs at the event that was being run

I go for a mix of wiggle dhb stuff and AliExpress jerseys. Both of which the quality is great. Shorts seem to run about $40 and the tops about $25.

      LOL

Only an ozbargainer would compare Rapha to AliExpress! Fantastic.

gets trickey on ozbargain ….some people like to find a specific brand at a bargain price e.g seiko watch on star buy vs a deal on ebay for same watch but cheaper.

and some people look for similar functionality at a bargain price ….. aldi brushless drill deal vs ozito brushless drill deal.

same with cycling, some people are very passionate and it forms a significant part of their weekend, social life, life style and self image, for others it’s just a way to keep fit or get to work and beat the traffic. For me it’s to keep fit, so i look for functionality at a bargain price rather than brand.

freemasons have their handshakes so they can recognise each other, i guess devout cyclists have shaved legs so they can recognise each other.

Agree 100% I just find the comparison humourous :-)

Also; how do ozbargainers recognize each other?

Best bib shorts I've ever owned are Rapha classics. I've owned most of the major brands over the years but the classics are hands down the best. I often have a look at their sales to see if the classics are on sale, one of the few high end cycling things I'd lash out for. Rapha also had a name for beign ultra expensive, I'm not sure they are any more expensive now than the likes of MAAP, Pedla etc Be your own judge of quality etc but I've worn a bunch of bibs on long charity rides etc and the Rapha classics were much more comfortable for me than the Sugoi/dhb/champion system team shorts that come with team kits etc. Maybe personal anatomy but IMHO at the 7 hour mark of a long ride, marginal gains on bibshort comfort seem more likely worth the money than they do at the coffee shop.
