Hi Ozbargainers… was shopping for a Joby Gorillapod 3K Kit and all were around $95-$129 so been holding off for a while, and behold today I found it at a pretty good price for $66 + Shipping. Usually the legs themselves sell for that price.

Product Info:

Holds 3kg of equipment
With a load capacity of three kilograms, the Joby GorillaPod 3K kit can reliably hold equipment such as flashes, video lights, speedlights, and most DSLR cameras. You’ll be able to take incredible stills, from landscapes to portraits, with complete stability and control. Securely held into place, you won’t be worried about your equipment going anywhere.
Mounts just about any camera
The Joby GorillaPod 3K can hold anything with a standard 1/4"-20 screw mount that weighs up to 3 kilos. You won’t need any additional attachment to lock your camera in place. You can also work with other Joby pro-level accessories, such as the GripTight PRO mounts and GorillaPod arms that allow you to use GoPro adapters, flash clips and microphones.
Compact and durable
With its compact size, the Joby GorillaPod 3K is easy to transport around wherever you’re going. Perfect for travelling, you can throw it into your bag and be on your way. Weighing under 250g, it is super light to carry around with you, without weighing you down. It can take some bumps and knocks, made with stainless steel and durable plastic.
Multi-jointed legs
With legs made up of several joints, the Joby GorillaPod can wrap around objects to get just the perfect angle for your shot. You’ll be able to get shots at difficult angles, even on unsteady ground. With rubberised feet that won’t budge even on an unbalanced surface, you’ll have the grip and flexibility to take shots that you wouldn’t have thought was possible.
Twist, turn and lock into place
You can attach an optional ball head to the Joby GorillaPod for further shooting capabilities. The included ball head offers 360-degree rotation and 90-degree tilting for nearly unrestricted movement. The knob locks into place when you have found your exact angle so it won’t budge. You can attach it to anything – poles, trees, high beams – and trigger it remotely. With a bubble level, you’ll be able to have precise camera alignment and orientation for a particular shot.

    • We were replying to “BNR32” link that the item he found for $56.95 is just for the stand only.

      • Ahh I didn't see that. It's a great deal, too bad I already have the Manfrotto evo pod.. But a great deal, maybe I should..

  • I had ordered just the 3k stand from teds yesterday but cancelled that and jb hifi matched the $66 for the 3k kit today

  • Although I scored a secondhand one of these guys for $5 at a garage sale, I have to say these are really good quality and super solid.

This was after wasting time with some el-cheapo versions.

  • Would this hold a 5D IV plus 24-70mm?

    • +1

If all up its under 3KG then…. Yes..

  • I was just looking at one of these for my iPhone. Does anyone have any experience with the mobile ones?

  • I bought the smaller 1K model (works well) and attached a proper head on it, but the head I bought uses a 3/8" thread. So I bought a 1/4" to 3/8" adaptor (which also works well). If anyone has similar plans and wants the adaptor I have 2 spares (came as a pack of 3), free to anyone who can pick it up from Sydney near Central.
