Hmmm…bingeing a TV series without having to go to the kitchen.

No one is spending $700 to keep fruit cool.

Don't understand why people go camping with a fridge/freezer, stove, portable TV, laptop, internet hotspot, generator, etc, etc.

Might as will pitch a tent in your living room.

We take the Nespresso machine as well.

      • Proper campers make coffee with their portable washing machines.

    • It seems campers don't have a sense of humour ;-)

    • Spent $500 on a fridge for camping, I think they're worth the money.

A 40L coolbox (same size as my fridge) is on special at Anaconda right now for $100 if you're a member. Then you still need ice, so that's another 8 bucks (urban pricing), and it'll last what, 1 or 2 days tops in summer, so you need to spend another 8-10 bucks for ice which now costs more because you're out bush somewhere. So it's already let's say $15 (being conservative) and that's just for 3-4 days. Go camping once a month or so, and just for ice it'll cost about $150 give or take. You're egg carton is soggy because what was ice is now water, your snags have water in the packaging etc. do that for 2 years and you've almost spent the same on a fridge.

      Pros of a fridge:
      - go for a weekend drive out to wherever in the bush and you've got all your cold stuff cold in summer. We go have cold meat and bread somewhere, or take some cans of soft drinks etc. No mucking about with cooler bags or whatever else just chuck in it the fridge and you're set.
      - Keeps your stuff for longer imo when camping because you know the products are cold.
      - No soggy cardboard or milk bottles or waterlogged meats etc.

Also, why would you not take a stove camping? Saves the hassle of trying to cook on a fire for breakfast when you wanna leave early, if you get to camp late you can quickly cook up a meal. Want a coffee but forgot the thermos? Break out the stove and boil some water quickly.

Wouldn't be without mine, it lives in the 4wd and i use it all the time. The past few days i've used it to dish out countless cold cans of Coke to fireys fighting bush fires. It's paid for itself many times over.

I got one of these. Cheaper and does the job well. Kings are well known and highly rated too.
