ShopBack Not Recognising Large Orders

Has anyone experienced shopback refusing to accept large orders? I put in an agoda transaction when it was 12% cashback on a $1500 order. I followed all the rules as I do with every other transaction and even have submitted proof of the click and the order coming in 5 minutes later, they simply ignore me and tell me a generic excuse. I was on a desktop computer and using their own extension.

I see no reason but they are trying to weasel out of $140 or so payment to me. Has anyone experienced this before? It also has happened to my friend when he put through a $2200 booking on booking.com.

Any advice or am I stuck in the mud? I feel there really needs to be some regulation here. Are Shopback taking their referrals on some of these orders and not paying part of that back to the consumer?

So… what was their "generic" excuse when you asked them?

I used to go to CR for my hotel.com bookings and it went all right although I only got the cashback in March/April (3-4 mths later).

    • Firstly,
      Click successfully tracked to eBay

A generic response asking for exactly the same information as was already supplied.
(no the sale was not cancelled or returned in any way)
I didn't bother chasing any further, never used them since. I've only ever had one Cashrewards fail to track and that was due to an adblocker, so it was my own fault. Despite this, I successfully claimed the $20 odd on that sale too!

I got action when I posted on a ShopBack hot thread where gotyourback is .

Similiar situation a large order of giftcards was not tracked being my largest order with them.

  • I speak only of my experience with shopback.

I made a purchase from an online retailer. They didn't track my purchase itself but did the clickthrough. After the required time I contacted them, they required proof of purchase. I sent them evidence of purchase. They then sent that to be verified with the retailer. After the 2 weeks or however long the suggested wait time was I was told it was denied with a generic excuse - that is: you cancelled order, refunded order, used gift cards or so on. I replied back that that was not the case. After a review period they come back and say:

"Upon checking with (retailer) on the order with the team, our team has fixed the issue and I have assisted in topping up the balance of XXXX into your account."

There was a delay of over one month before the merchant said the purchase was legit.

I also had to follow up when the pending balance didn't finalise on the due date.

In conclusion I followed the steps they provided and was able to receive the correct amount of cashback. I will probably use them again in the future because I resolved the issue eventually.

  • Yes experienced similar on launch.
    Click tracked, but sale didn't.
Manual Claim rejected for no specified reason.

  • I had three Agoda orders rejected.

  • Haven't tried Agoda via Shopback, but had an accommodation package for Hamilton Island of $2K+ via Shopback approved with the cashback being $100+.

  • Just got a phone rejected during the 11.11 sale.

All my other small items went through. Dodgy.

  • Yup experiencing right now.

I will most likely just cancel all of the bookings and rebooked. Not happy. What’s the point of using the extension if they just make excuses.

It’s false advertising increasing rate and then saying the cashbacks are rejected. I get that if we actually use promo codes etcetc but we’ve done exactly as what we are told to do!
