  Castrol Edge is an API SL classified Oil whereas Shell Helix 5w30 has the newer API SN classification. Also the Shell Helix is made in the EU whereas Castrol 5w30 is made in Malaysia or Thailand I think.

  I have used both and can say that helix is wayyyyyyy better. Car feels a lot smoother and the engine oil refill cap looks way cleaner after 2 change.

I find that if you are stuck in traffic because of some safety car ahead, if you use this oil you really need to watch if the engine is overheating and significantly increase the gap to the vehicle in front to get some clean air.
