    Woah. Some good prices!

  • Yoku or moonlighter any good?

    • I played the PC version of Yoku. It was pretty fun and not that difficult. Good game to play with young children.

    • +4

Yoku is fantastic! It's a pinball/platformer hybrid. Would recommend.

      • Holy crap what an awesome little game. I had no idea!
Because of you I just grabbed this and have probably lost my weekend now :)
        Another Team 17 classic.

    • +1

      Yoku is amazing

      Very original game.

    • Moonlighter is also great

    • Moonlighter is one of the best games I played. Please as an ozbargainer do not make a pass on this game for such a cheap price.

      • Moonlighter is a good game. But be aware there are some bugs that make it annoying to play at times.

Didn't stop me playing through, but it does crash occasionally and you lose progress since last save.

    • I loved my first couple of hours with moonlighter, after that if feels pretty repetitive. Catchy music and pretty original idea too.

    • Out of that list, also recommend Yoku!

    • If you happen to have an Xbox One and Game Pass, both games are free on that…

  • +1

How can I say no to worms at that price! I haven't played it but I've been played previous ones. I suspect it'd work well in consoles

    • +1

The UI elements are a bit small. Especially in handheld. Otherwise it’s all good.

  • Child of Light Ultimate also about ~$13 which is a fantastic game

  • Been thinking about Moonlighter for awhile, anyone played it?

Also what's the appeal of Overcooked?

    • Overcooked is meant to be a great local multiplayer game; I haven't personally tried it.

    • Great multiplayer game, but if you don't have anyone try play it with I can imagine it wouldn't be enjoyable at all to play as the latest levels get quite challenging

    • +2

Overcooked is just a great party game. You need to coordinate with other people to make sure you're cooking the right dishes, using the right ingredients, etc. Gets very frantic. It's also very accessible for people that don't really play games.

    • +4

Overcooked is the best way to hate people you used to like :)

    • Don't let the "multiplayer-only" comments put you off. I played the original Overcooked single-player only and it's the first game I've taken to 100% in years.

    • Moonlighter is a great RPG. Well worth your $9. Haven't held on to my switch for that long since BOTW. The gameplay mechanics where you dungeon crawl, tend to your shop, upgrade your equipments and your house/shop makes the dungeon grinding something you would want to do, add the fact that it has a great soundtrack.

      • Yeah sweet thanks for the replies! Moonlighted has my attention the most.

      • +1

Damn got me excited at that price. Moonlighter is $18.

  • Can i prepurchase without a switch? At these great prices don't want to miss out

    • +1

Just register an account and buy. Then buy your switch and login. Should be fine

      • Looks like you can't. I get this message…
In order to continue, please access Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch console linked to this Nintendo Account.

        • +1

Yeah you need to have activated it on a switch once before.

For me I asked my friend to add my account. Then you can buy games from the ec.nintendo.com.au thing but it's very hard to link the games properly via browser.

Then when you get your own switch you are only allowed to remove the primary console once every 12 months.

Bonus is that the current switch owner can play your games until you remove the primary, so my friend is playing FFXII for now.

It took me so much effort to figure this out so pass it on.

    • Same here. Would also like to know.

Brief overview of the one's that I've played:

Overcooked! 2 = Great fun; but you need a second player (couch or online). The game is all about co-op communication.

Yoku's Island Express = Pinball metroidvania, very interesting and a nice breath of fresh air. Worth a try, but if you suck at pinball you may find traversal frustrating.

Rogue Legacy = Metroidvania/rougue like. There is permanent upgrades, starts off very tough. Running, jumping, slashing etc. I really enjoyed it and usually hate rogue games.

Iconoclasts = another metroidvania, light on upgrades but more emphasis on story. Running, jumping, some light shooting and puzzle solving.

The Escapists 2 = This one requires homework to understand and to enjoy. It's a big sandbox game where the joy comes from figuring out it's systems or through trial and error. I would not describe as a pick up and play experience, although some fun to be had here if you can get a partner to join you and both dig your heels in.

Evoland Legendary Edition = This is a bundle of two games that are a love letter to games from GB/NES/SNES/PLAYSTATION
I loved the second one, start there. Well worth the price! You time travel through different console eras and the game includes stages that cover a new game genre in nearly every level

Full Metal Furies = Overlooked gem, this one is made by the same people as rogue legacy (above). A brawler not unlike castle crashers or battletoads. Couch and online co-op, recommended to play with another. Has RPG elements and some crazy riddles and puzzles towards the end which I loved.

    • +2

Figment = amazing music. I normally don't give a buggery about the sound in games, but it blew me away (especially the songs the bad guys sing). Great art style.. an interesting representation of the brain and hardship. Gameplay wise, it's a relaxing game, not hard.

    • +2

+1 that Full Metal Furies is an overlooked gem. Didn't realise that fully completing the puzzle aspect kinda forms the second "half" of the campaign, and that it didn't just end with beating all the bosses.

Having a blast playing through couch co-op trying to cover off the post-game stuff.

  • Almost got excited thinking there was a Yoshi game. Nice find op!

  • +1

Wanted Overcooked 1 instead of Overcooked 2, but the Special Edition is still $26 :( Should I grab Overcooked 2? I've heard the first one is better/more challenging due to the new throwing mechanics at Overcooked 2 (also some say the maps in Overcooked 2 are not as good as the first)

    • I'd recommend 2 over 1. Adding throwing as a dynamic doesn't change a ton and the second game has better levels in my opinion and the extra DLC levels are great. Plus the 4 star challenge mode is brutal for a challenge

  • My shop credit is running low! We need another sale on ship gift cards.

    • +1

JB Boxing day to new years sale. Usually.

      • Thanks. Looking at the OzBargain history, they’re pretty infrequent. I didn’t stock up nearly enough last time!

    • Maybe black Friday.

  • As someone who had never played Rayman Legends until recently I can definitely say it's a great Switch game.

  • +1

    Torchlight 2 is also $22.

  • how about those two mario games? Any suggestions? For kids?

    • +1

      Overcooked is good for kids

  • Can you play overcooked 2 multiple people if you only have the switch lite? Like can I buy an extra controller and we playing together using the single switch lite screen?

  • Overcooked is very tempting… just did a quick google search and it appears that Overcooked 1 & 2 are being released as a pack.. might wait for that instead. Looks like a good game to play with the gf lol.
