What Is Your Favourite Weird Food Combination?

What two foods do you mix together that you love?

Mine would have to be vegemite and rasin toast or vanilla yoghurt with ice cream.

  • Vegemite on pancakes.

  • Cheese and bacon rolls with vegemite and roast chicken. In fact, I think I've just worked out what I'm having for lunch today.

  • soaking the pizza crust in a glass of pepsi/coke

  • Hot cross buns (warmed or toasted) or fruit loaf (toasted) with thick coating of butter topped with tomato sauce.

  • One slice of Vegemite on toast and one slice of honey on toast and taking alternating bites. Just hard to decide which piece of toast to finish on.

  • Peel a banana and smear with generous amount of peanut butter

  • +1

Spaghetti Bolognese with Japanese mayo or Indomie migoreng with Japanese mayo

  • Bread, Butter, Sugar…. VEGEMITE !

  • Buttered toast with tomato sauce and mustard. Basically a snag without the sausage.

  • Cheese & Chocolate sprinkles on a white toast.

  • Sliced Mangoes and on heavily buttered White bread.

  • Yogurt and chips

  • Promite, peanut butter and cheese sandwich. Bonus: spread butter first.

This is normal & popular in Asia but apparently very strange in Australia.

  • mi goreng with johnwest chilli tuna

  • Strawberries with garlic sauce.

  • Butter Chicken with Spaghetti

  • Yoghurt and polenta
    Stinging nettle and thin cornbread
    Mulukhiyah with added cornflour

Burghul salad (burghul cooked in turnip juice + added greens. Kinda like tabouli)

lols aside I would have to say

Crinkle cut salt and vinegar chips with either plain Cadbury chocolate or hazelnut chocolate

  • +1

    Vegemite and strawberry jam toast

  • Gulabjamun topped with Rabdi garnished caramelised rose petals

  • Lasagne + Rice

    • Mehshi and lasagne.

  • Peanut butter, banana and honey sandwich.

Vegemite and any sweet spread on toast.

  • Tuna and frozen veggies with a bit of water blended and then drunk. Very convenient; very weird.

  • Grilled squid with peanut butter

  • +1

    I like KFC & rice

  • I split an Avo in half.. remove the seed and fill the space with mayo… all i need then is my spoon.

    • your not the first person that has told me this

  • This post should come with a warning: Do not read on an empty stomach. 😑

  • I liked vegemite and jam on toast when I was younger

  • Ham and cheese sandwich with an added potato cake.

  • Im personally yet to try this, but recently heard a chef raving about olive oil on vanilla icecream.
Will give it a go soon!

  • When riding my bike I take a couple of wraps containing:

    Dried Edameme beans
    Honey
    Banana
    Sultanas
    Cinnamon
    Cacao Powder
    Peanut Butter

    Weird but pretty awesome combo

  • I don't think its weird, but it would certainly get some weird looks if you saw me do it and didn't know why, but I like to put Mayonnaise on the outside of a grilled cheese sandwich. It helps to crisp it up really nicely. Give it a try.

I put Japanese kelp stock into a lot of dishes - eg Bolognese. Might seem weird, but it's just contributing glutamate and enhancing meaty flavours. I also put in fish sauce. Don't think it's really that weird, just non-traditional.

    • Gonna try that mayo trick. Cheers
