Worth a think it you don't need the Samsung brand name.Or the built in CCP back door access.

+888 social creditsMy experience says just having the latest and greatest hardware doesn't necessarily make a great phone. Lot of cheap phones claim to have the latest hardware but perform very poorly.
Only problem with phone companies wanting a slice of tbat economic profit is that they shove latest processors like 855 845 into phones and market that but have poor heat dissipation, which makes the phone completely useless when performing tasks other than facebook or phone calls
From that experience, I was said no to less well known companies even with latest hardware. Not sure about xuaomi.
Xiaomi has great hardware but spamtastic software, and recently lineagos was forced to pull their support for a couple of month til a copyright issue was sorted.
@annarchon: Use blokada app on your xiaomi phone, and add jerryn70 Xiaomi Extension host file, then you're golden.
That way, all ping to china servers are stopped, without any consequences to the user experience.
I bought it because S9+ exynos version has official lineageos support. So should be good for five years at least. My S4 is on pie and getting dailies.
Not just the brand name.
Unfortunately, the Exynos chip has garbage battery life too. Have been experiencing this for the last 18 months as an S9 owner. Everything apart from that is great.
It’s an s9 not s9+ battery is smaller by 500mha
@[Deactivated]: The bigger battery helps, but the issue is in the CPU power management. I knew about it and still bought the S9, but it's worth being aware of issues with the Exynos. Anandtech did a great write up on this https://www.anandtech.com/show/12520/the-galaxy-s9-review/8
S8 and S10 Exynos chips don't have the same issue.

So hopefully Samsung would have fixed it by now, or lineage it is.
@annarchon: It hasn't been fixed, unfortunately (I have been following this for 18 months), and the best compromise is to run it in power saving mode.
The kernel the reviewer built was not publicly released.
As I said I have owned and use one daily, it's a great phone overall, but the battery isn't. I will replace it with the S11.
@cyssero: My S8 had great battery life. But my S10+ with a much bigger 4100mah battery is not spectacular. I can get through the day but the amount remaining at the end is less than I was getting with my S8 (not plus).
I'm quite happy with the battery life on my S9+ with the Exynos chip. It would be nice to have the FM radio support you get with the SD chip but I'd probably never make use of it.
I love my Samsung S9. It's such a snappy phone and I can't imagine upgrading unless I was to jump ship to Apple or get the Motorolla Flip.
I have to also say that with a lifeproof case, it is entirely entombed and still looks like it was just opened from the box (I even kept the plastic wrap on it before putting it in the case).
Which life proof did you use, the whole sealed ones with plastic on the front or just bumper case
Had horrible experience with plastic fronHello. I have used the Lifeproof FRE, the sealed ones with the plastic on the front for S7 and S9 Samsungs. My first two cases were perfect but when I received my third case before handing over my phone to my mum, the new case didn't snap together, but they sent a new case without having to send in the faulty one which saved a bit of hassle & time. What was wrong with yours?
