A new record low price on this high end 8.8" Lenovo Android tablet that was most recently posted for US$313.89 (~A$492.69). This one feature the more high end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 fast storage making it a good choice for gaming and more. The 8.8" display is bright with vibrant colours and imo the perfect size, as it's bigger than a phone and not too bulky like a 10-12" tablet.

Like other tablets it's good for media due to the high res display and Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix HD. Another big highlight is that there's two USB-C ports with one supporting USB 3.2 + Display Output and another with support for charging/bypass charging.

Featuring Android 14 with ZUI (support for 3 major upgrades), 8.8" 2560x1600 165Hz IPS display with 500nits brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10 & 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, Adreno 750 GPU, 6550mAh battery, 68W PD fast charging, JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos, inbuilt mics, 13MP + 2MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

  • Add "Bundle: Super Deal" and "Color: 12GB 256GB Black" to the cart
  • Apply the coupons GLCODE10 and AUOU32 or AUSS39 at checkout

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

As for downsides it's worth mentioning there's no microSD card slot or GPS. While it lacks a 3.5mm audio jack the addition of another USB-C port allows for USB-C headphones, while charging our using display out. Otherwise there's always Bluetooth connectivity.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

AliExpress trade in USD and the ~ before the AUD price in the deal means about or roughly. Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate.

Oh ffs now I wish i didn't buy the xiaoxinpad 2025.

    • +3

I have this one and can confirm it is an amazing tablet. Beats the ipad mini 7 out of the water including gaming and had writing. It supports Lenovo pen and works really well.

      • this one as in the Y700 sdgen3?

    • +5

      Just buy another one

      • +1

Turns out I may be able to refund that xiaoxin pad pro 2025 (8/256)…

Maybe I should and buy this…

        • Xiaoxin is better CPU better battery bigger screen totally up to you

          • -1

            @neonlight: It's not a better cpu ?

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 beats out on emulation and gaming and everything

            https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/qualcomm-snapdragon-8-…

            • @SkyeMG: Which one has higher battery consumption. Compare that too.

              • -1

@neonlight: Yeah but there's battery passthru and can always use a power bank, carrying around the other tablet would be annoying too.

The Y700 is better for a gaming tablet and emulation which is somewhat what I'm lookin for

edit: also on that site it shows same battery score

    • +1

That Xiaoxin is cheaper only $271.00

      • +1

i paid close to $300 for the 256gb model (with faster storage)

    • And this one doesn't have SD card slot, your Xiaoxin does.

      • yeah

  • +3

16GB/512GB version for US$302.39 (~A$462.55), same store, with same code and using PayPal pay in 4 $7 USD discount

    • +2

Selecting PayPal pay in 4 changes USD to AUD. How did you change it back to USD?

      • +1

Select AUD in AliExpress, better rate than PayPal

        • +1

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate.

I think paying in USD by letting your bank to convert USD to AUD yields a lower AUD.

          • +1

@Think: I couldn't find out how to do that when using Pay in 4, PayPal automatically did the conversion. I ended up by setting it to AUD in AliExpress

    • Mine shows $328.26USD for 16GB version.

    • After tax $494 somethin

    • +2

oh this is the gen 3, should hv read it better. But still a good deal, I will wait for Gen.4 until China's Single day (11.11) discount

      • +1

These are already single day discounts apparently

  • insane brother

  • +3

As far as I know, the Y700 2025 model (gen4) should come with the Snapdragon Elite, correct me if I’m wrong. The item description seems to say it’s Gen 3 instead?

    • +2

2025 includes both the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and Elite variant. This is the former. We can thank Lenovo for their silly naming.

      • +1

Thanks bro, I checked GSMArena too — Lenovo call the Snapdragon 8 Elite as Gen 4, and the one released in October 2024 is the Y700 2025. 😶

  • +2

Is it powerful enough for Veggie Warriors?

  • +2

there is no TF card slot

    • +1

That's what the deal says :)

    • +2

there is a sd card slot in gen 4

      • so should one wait for that?

        • +1

Gen 4 is unlikely to be priced this low. Possibly around 500AUD at most in singles day 11.11 (biggest shopping event in China).

However, I believe it is worth the wait until 11th to see the prices first. But who knows

Gen 4th is a huge step up in performance (same cpu as samsung s25), better battery, and slightly lighter

          • @kbd67: Man yeah I'm so conficted now..

So fun thing I can actually refund my xiaoxin pad pro 12.7 (8300) purchase now 🤔

            https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.gsmarena.com/lenovo_legion_y700_(gen_4)-ampp-13993.php

            https://m.gsmarena.com/lenovo_legion_y700_(2025)-13438.php

            • +1

@SkyeMG: would recommend waiting for 11.11 as it will most likely has the best deals on both 3rd & 4th gen

              • @kbd67: Hopefully there will be

I have till nov 18th to return that xiaoxin pad pro 12.7 so looking forward to it.

Unfortunate they still use LCD screens and don't go back to OLED

    • That's a crucial thing. Xiaoxin pad pro has a slot in comparison so yeah I'm not changing or buying another

  • It eng menu or china. Can change to Eng?

    • +3

Can set to English during initial setup.

      • So no debloat is required like Xiaoxin pad pro?

  • do you have one yourself ? @Clear

    • Sadly not.

  • +1

Does anyone know if this work with Plex?

    • Don't see why it wouldn't.

    • Yes it runs Android so it supports the Plex app.

  • +1

AUSS39 can't be used any more.

    • max redemptions? Try AUOU32

  • AUSS39 code has expired…

Sorry, the coupon code you entered is based on a first come first served basis and has been used up by other shoppers. Please enter a different coupon code or explore other discounts on AliExpress.

Now priced at USD$284.80 - which is AUD$435 roughly

    • nvm thank u @Clear, AUOU32 working!!!

  • +1

Perfect for my GameSir G8 Plus! Tab S9 is unfortunately a bit too big to use comfortably, so looking forward to this. The S9 was around $330 earlier this year so this is a cracking price. And slightly better switch emulation!

    • +1

Pity the no micro SD card expansion else I would have been tempted

      • While a pity, it'll force me to just keep a collection of games to actually play, not hoard. Also plan on trying out Sunshine/Moonlight to my PC (Linux, so no Artemis/Apollo yet).

  • -1

Can this use to replace mobile phone?

    • It doesn't have gps or cellular (according to gsm arena) so probably a bad idea

  • So tempted, this is the tablet right now for moonlight streaming and switch emulation I just can't really justify it.

  • -1

You can compare Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 vs Legion Y700 2025 (current) vs upcoming Legion Y700 (Gen 4) here - https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=12439&idPhone…

    • +3

Gen 4 is not upcoming its already on sale.

    • +1

S9 is not comparable to the y700, different size class, much harder to hold for extended periods, so used for different purposes.

  • Are powerful tablets primarily for gaming?

    • +1

also handy when at home and browsing or shopping if you want bigger screen than a phone but not a laptop on a table. i often also take my tablet in my car just incase i end up having to do more work than phone was designed for screen wise.

  • -2

To be fair, I've seen it hit below $255 with coupons for the past few months. Only problem is these stores are usually unaffiliated so no cashback except AliExpress. Maybe it might go lower for 11.11?

  • +6

Also if you're buying it now, better off spending something worth $12+ to hit the $42 of $269. It becomes slight cheaper at $257.

  • Wow that price is great , I have a xxpp and love it had it for about a year now great tablet , but was also interested in it's little brother for gaming
    Seems really impressive specs

  • This is not 2025 Y700 Gen 4,
    It is 2024 Y700 Gen 3.

  • +1

    Emulating powerhouse

    • Hows this run winlator GTA V or smth

  • What's a more mid range option that is similar screen size? Feel like the 9-10 inch range is ideal for kids if you need to distract them for the plane or long drives. The xiaoxin pad is a great price but a little big.

  • Why can’t i see the link? Whenever i press the OP’s link its just directs me to homepage of aliexpress?

  • Just a question i see 3 different version. All with price difference what’s that about of 16gb/512gb?

    • They're just discounted prices with a set amount allocated for each. That way if it goes out of stock the whole listing doesn't go OOS.

  • Any deal with the new xiaomi pad 8" ?

  • How tempting, but this is definitely overkill for my kids and their learning apps!

Can anyone make some recommendations for a tablet for a kid, similar sized screen to this with at least 8GB RAM?

    • Alldocube iPlay 50/60/70 mini pro

  • Any coupon code working for 16gb/512 one? Its showing 342.27USD with tax.

    • AUOU66 or AUSS79 on the US$328 one before tax.

  • Ended up using AUOU66 and it came to US$269.53 shipped. Codes listed didn't work for me.

  • Could I wall mount this as a home assistant hub?
Was looking at iPad mini but prefer Android

    • +1

Sure, but this is major overkill for that… you'd most likely get the same functionality with a sub $200 tablet. Also be mindful of battery issues if left constantly plugged in.

      • +3

this does have battery passhtru though so if you plug it in, it'll directly power the tablet.

        • +1

Thank you, good to know. I don't mind overkill if it means super snappy interface. I hate any lag on tablets.

  • Any recommendations for a USBC telescopic controller for this?

    • Gamesir G8 but you need to mod it or their official Lenovo G9 controller specifically made for this tablet

    • X5 lite or memopad S3 tablet edition.

      • wow gamesir x5 lite only $35? I'm going in

  • I have the 2023 version and it's a beast. I mainly used it with a Gamesir G8 controller for moonlight streaming. The later models perform even better regarding decoding times.

Lenovo also have a controller attachment for these tablets as well to turn it into a handheld.

  • anyone can recommend a case for this?
@Clear - i purchased it last night. However im travelling in Dec 1, do you think it will arrive on time?
    Many thanks for this deal

  • Got this recently and its great!

    FYI:
    - You can install the playstore using the pre installed app store. Better than downloading APK online.

    • Most pre installed software can be uninstalled.

    • I used shopback and got an extra 10 percent cash back. You can probs get better ones elsewhere nots sure.

    • Most pre installed software can be uninstalled.

Unless you're willing to use ADB to remove them.

  • how is this compared to the lenovo xiaoxin pro gt? it seems to be the same processor, just bigger screen? i saw theres a discount for it, so wanted to ask. sucks they arent affiliated for cashback

    • Yup bigger/brighter screen and looks to include a microSD slot. Same processor, ram, storage etc.

  • Waiting on next deal for the other popular tablet here (the bigger one)

I assume singles day so not far away.
