Came acorss this great deal on the Ultimate Matrix Collection Blu-Ray box set from Amazon.com - $26.99 + shipping (with just this item in the shopping cart standard shipping (18-32 days) was $5.69 to Australia, so after conversion + shipping the total was $31.38 AUD).
Expedited International Shipping (8-16 business days)was $7.60 (Personally, i would put in the extra $2 for faster shipping)

This is not the same box set as "The Complete Matrix Trilogy" (which just contains the 3 films). The Ultimate Matrix Collection also contains additional documentaries and The Animatrix.

A quick search on JB HiFi's site shows they are selling it for a whopping $143.99:
http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-genres/action-adventu…

"The definitive 7-disc Blu-ray set, The Ultimate Matrix Collection features all three films in the trilogy together for the first time ever with a newly remastered picture and sound for The Matrix. Also included is the companion piece The Matrix Revisited and the best-selling The Animatrix, plus five entirely new Blu-ray discs packed solid with brand-new supplemental materials that encompass every aspect of the Matrix universe, including two new audio commentaries on each film, Enter the Matrix video game footage, 106 deep-delving featurettes/ documentaries and much more!"

Isn't US bluray didn't work here?

That's why we normally only order from UK?

    • Not to mention it also being cheaper from .co.uk

      • Nevermind - I just realised that it is a different set. Nevertheless, the above comment from superforever still stands.

        • dont understand who gave the neg vote to superforever, he's right. bluray from UK is 100% compatible whereas from US it can cause you dramas being a different region and you need to make sure what you are buying is region free.

I've ordered many Blu-Rays from both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk and never had a problem playing any. My player is the Sony BDP-S730 (which I picked up from an OzBargain for $99 :-))

      • gengar, thats just luck if you haven't looked up compatability prior to purchasing, Some US discs wont work here

This particular set is region free per listing at http://bluray.liesinc.net/

  • Ordered one. Mine came out to

    Subtotal of Items: $26.99
    Shipping & Handling: $7.98
    ———
    Total for this Order: $34.97

  • this is slightly cheaper if you have a 28 degrees card and get billed in USD

also it appears two of the disks are DVD?

    Regardless - good find OP - :)

    • Yeah, my friend had the blu-ray set and the commentaries, extras are on DVD.

  • Good find OP!

man i dont know how jb live with themselves!!!!

    i mean WTF?
then they cry when people go over seas…

either 1. give your customers a better deal
    2. negotiate a better rate with your suppliers then do 1!
    3. import yourself then do 1!

    • Retail stores cant import movies and sell here

~sighs~ stop ruining a good story with facts and logic!

      • +1

Why not? There may be import duty & GST involved, but just makes it a parallel import.
If this causes problems with their wholesaler, then that's a separate issue.

        • think there might be an agreement with the movie studios or something?

      • If GAME can do it with imported copies of games then why can't JB do it with Blu-rays?

It's hard to believe there are seperate laws on videogames and movies when both are very similar mediums.

        • JB Hifi and other local retailers have probably signed agreements with local publishers not to bypass them and sell parallel imports. The stores would get lower prices in exchange. If the agreement is broken by the stores I would expect the publishers to cease all product deliveries and charge a higher price should the retailer decide to play ball again. Parallel imports of CDs are definately legal, so I doubt DVDs and blu-rays are not.

With books it's a different matter, as local stores are forbidden by law from bypassing local distributors. It's partly about keeping Australian-English as it is without foreign influence. Parallel imports would have American spellings of color, flavor, etc, and words like candy instead of sweets.
