Used to be but nowadays business awards redemption has gone up from most airlines and availability is patchy. YMMV
IMHO I still think it's better value.
With an economy redemption, you're already getting more than 1¢/point, which is usually better than converting to gift cards. Business redemption has gone from like 4¢/point to like 3.5¢/point.
But I do agree that availability is patchy for some destinations.
Myer doesn't seems to have bonus.
myer is only 5% for the $100 giftcard.

When I login it's 13,500 points for the Amazon $100+$10 bonus. Is it different for different Amex programs? Mine is Business Ascent

All good thanks, I haven't really been able to find info on tiers so figured I'd ask. The gift cards always work out worse than just using the points to pay the card which gives $8 per 1,000. So better than the gift card rate. This is the first time I've seen the gift cards above that. It doesn't benefit me to use the points to pay so I've been trying to find the best way to spend them and it looks like Amazon could be the way to go

Yeah there are different Amex reward programs
Is it targeted? I don't have any bonus for Amazon, still 20,000 points for $100.
Personally i find hotel or airline point redemptions better value. Any thoughts??
