I guess that's why OP said

Same price as Amazon but no need to wait 1-2 months.

  • How do they compare to these? Similar but $152 + delivery.

These are so ridiculously popular… I don't really need any more speakers but I don't actually have a bluetooth set for work. Someone shit on them so I no longer feel fomo

    • They are amazing. Best $119 I've spent on audio related. Would have paid RRP for them

    • I have a pair of Bose Soundtouch 10 and love the sound but the whole bluetooth pairing and the way they are tied into the Bose phone app, I'm ready to give them up. I've bought a pair of these. Look forward to getting them setup and comparing to the Bose.

  • Maybe a noob question, but can we use them with LG SM8100 TV?

    • +2

You can use them with a TV.
If using bluetooth connection there will be a slight audio delay
If the TV has an optical digital out (often called TOSlink) you can use that, but will need to control audio using the Edifier remote, or a universal remote set up for it.

If you want to use the TV remote control for audio, you need speakers with an HDMI ARC connection.

      • Thanks for the clarification. Yes the TV does have Optical Digital Audio Out port so that should be fine, but do they out perform the TV internal speakers?

I have a 65" model and for the time being I feel the audio coming out is quite alright.

        • You just answered your own question

      • "you need speakers with an HDMI ARC connection"

Does something similar to these speakers exist with an ARC connection?

  • blueteeth 5?

  • R1700BT (Black) deal is back in stock for $134.30 Delivered (eBay Plus only) more than 10 available.

Be aware R1700BT is missing optical digital / coax digital inputs, and have a built-in upward tilted angle.

    • I assume there is a benefit to them though for the extra $$

      • It is subjective, but some have claimed the sound-quality is slightly better on the R1700BT.

I would still recommend the R1280DB over the R1700BT for most consumers.
In this “R” series range, the comparable next model up from the R1280DB is the R1850DB (which is a R1700BT with optical / coax digital inputs & subwoofer output), but this model is rarely on-sale.

In my opinion R1700BT is the next model up from R1280T, with R1700BT adding bluetooth.

  • To OP,
Those specs were copy & pasted from Edifier AU.
I am flattered but the credit goes to them.

  • Thanks purchased a pair

  • Do these sound good with a turntable? I have an Audio Technica LP60XBT with preamp built in and line out (and even bluetooth with aptX so I also wonder if I should get aptX speakers). I feel a weird peer pressure to try out these speakers!
