Not my personal experience with owning one, and could be different for others, but … I was on a Qantas flight to Singapore; sitting near someone that had this, they had it inflated in the footwell and their infant's bassinet on top. They were asked to deflate and not use due to safety reasons - I recall the discussion being about them explicitly asking and being given an OK by ground staff, but flight crew were having none of it.

Each airline has its own aviation policy, and inflatable foot rest pillows are not usable on some airlines. Please ask airline customer service before use.

With all the aggro in the USA regarding arm rests and reclining seats, I wouldn't be keen to try one over there. The people in that country have gone violent feral.

Brought this onto a Qantas international flight and was told that by flight attendant that it cannot be used. Used it on China Eastern with no issues.
Depends how game you are I use one on scoot and also take snacks on and eat them just hide with a blanket.
