ING Direct 50c Bonus EFTPOS Limit

It appears that the bonus 50c credit for withdrawing $200 or more with EFTPOS has a limit. Maybe it's per day as more than one at the same merchant will have the bonus added but then reversed. As the checkout didn't have enough cash in the til had to make another transaction. What are your experiences?

  • whats the limit?

    isn't the limit 5.50?

    • Cash out using Visa Debit Card - $2,200 per day, per account

    • Haha you must be joking about the post where someone pumped it through daily.

      • someone please find that link, the story made me laugh so hard

        • I was just having a read of the links that finbar posted before and it sounds like the OP of that post possibly plays a lot of pokies at lunch time.

Admittedly, at the height of my bad habits, I used to do that - except I would be withdrawing from non-bank ATMs inside the venue that charges me $2.50 each time.

  • 50c per day been like that for a while

    • That per day limit you refer to, so is that per merchant?

      • well i assume per day, but may be per merchant

other than woolies where else can u do this. coles always says no

        easy to find out.

        • I haven't had a no from Coles yet, but it's a pretty limited sample size of stores.

    • Don't think so. I did two times in the same Woolies in one day a few months ago.

  • As the checkout didn't have enough cash in the til had to make another transaction.

i think that is your explanation. transaction reversed, cashout also reversed.

i think they do get raggy if you do it too much.

  • You'll receive a phone call when you've reached the limit. They won't reveal exactly what the limit is though.

  • I'd forgotten this was still a thing. Shows how infrequently I withdraw cash these days.

  • Didn't know this even existed. Thanks for the heads up, will try myself to get an extra $1 some day.

  • $5.50 a day is still a good supplement to the dole. Might as well if you have nothing better to do.

Requires minimum of $200 in the bank to rinse and repeat the 50c withdrawals

    • +1

Especially when economic is weak and interest rate is so low, it makes small gain stand out.

      • I know right. This method is a better daily interest rate than the scammy payday lenders

    • It wont be time efficient if you only have $200.

      • Nope but the value of time for people on the dole isn't that high either
