      The E595 I bought came with a Samsung 2666Mhz 8GB M471A1K43DB1-CTD module that runs at 2400Mhz CL17.

Not all 2666Mhz modules will support CL17 at 2400Mhz, like the Crucial CT8G4SFS8266 2666Mhz Cl19 module, which is CL18 at 2400Mhz. I personally bought the Crucial 8GB CT8G4SFS824A 2400Mhz CL17 modules to upgrade it to 16GB.

If you're planning on replacing or adding another RAM module, then either buy the same Samsung M471A1K43DB1-CTD module, or modules that are specifically rated to run at 2400Mhz CL17.

  • Bought one on Friday. The bad news is that they've run out of stock in Australia and it apparently needs to get produced in China, so the waiting time is potentially 3-4 weeks until I receive the delivery.

    • Eek, I ordered on Friday too.
Did you contact Lenovo to find out about the shipping time? (& they told you about no stock). My order status page doesn't have anything for the Expected to Ship status :-/

      • Yes that's right, they said no stock in Australia and it needs to get shipped from China. The likelihood is that they've totally run out and they needed it to be made at the factory. I'm not all that optimistic about getting it before Christmas at this rate.

When I contacted them, they just kept saying it would be shipped in 6-9 business days (as stated on the page) + 3-5 business days for shipping.
It took a while for the "expected ship date" to get populated, but when it shipped the dates were sooner than expected. It shipped on the 5th & now estimated arrival of the 13th.
The tracking now shows it just got through customs here, so hopefully not too far away now (well before Christmas) :-D

          • @BlueMM: BTW, mine just arrived a few minutes ago :D
Not bad arriving in 8 business days from China, well below their worst case of the 19th.

            • @BlueMM: Mine just came today as well. Looks like some of the quoted dates were off. Very happy with the lappy so far, a real bargain for the $650 or so (adding in the 11% cashback)

  • Bought on the 5th. Still no update.

    • Update, all of a sudden it says shipped today and arriving 20/12. Better than I expected. Thought it would be after 25/12 at least.

  • Ok, to all the E595 owners out there (plus E495/E590/E490 etc), any recommendations for enhancing this laptop?

    • Accessories
      • Maybe powerbanks (can they even charge the laptop?), usb hubs, etc.
    • Software/Utilities
    • Hardware
      • I see multiple comments about extra ram, and maybe replacing the wireless card or screen…
