Spend the extra $40 and get the SonyWH1000XM3. Noise cancelling in these doesn’t even compare.

That's not true. I've used both and there's not much in it - reflected by most reviews out there.

The 550's are also significantly lighter and allow you to use them as headset while connected to USB - a feature none of the other competitors offer.

Lastly their sound quality is said to be more balanced than the bass-heavy Sony's. (The Bose are no competitor for sound quality)

Yeah I've tried both and honestly I prefer the sound profile on the sennheiser.

The only reason I could recommend the Sony over the senn, is because it comes with usb c haha.

It's more balanced but still very bass heavy, and not as balanced as their hd series. Also h9i and others offer USB C audio. Pxc is very old. Aimed at people buying a headphone at an airport. I bought these after reading great reviews, and the were trash, even compared to 4.40 and 4.5. They were more comfortable but that's it. It's worth spending more to get the xm3 here, especially given how customisable the EQ is and much more modern features. Also keep in mind most people don't like headphones with less bass, as they think it's flat sounding.

      • As in bose beats both of these?

        • Sony and the sennheiser beat the Bose.

        • Lol no. Bose beat them only in marketing and fan boys. Read any decent review which will confirm.

      • Nc is definitely better on the sony
But call quality and ability to connect to 2 devices, as well as comfort are better on these.

For just music the xm3 are better I think, but for multi function usage these are great all round.

    • Edit: No matter. Found it :)
