can you answer if dawg successfully hacked ozbargain website? i can't understand how he can post many deals very quick, it seems he can by pass the screening process.

Yep, you can get the penalty for using foul language constantly, constant trolling and harassing others

No. If anyone goes into the penalty box, they can talk to a mod via Talk with a Mod forum. No one has been permabanned for foul language on the first offense.

Not hacked, just some idiot crying for attention by spamming here. I believe some throttle controls will be coming soon (hopefully!).
This has happened before I think about COTD too… did we hurt someones feelings?
Seems like a pointless thing to do.
I think that ozbargain should consider taking some action to counter these kind of events. Obviously the current moderators can't be online 24/7.
Perhaps a lower level moderator that only has the power to delete this kind of offensive spam…or something along those lines.
What I found fascinating is, people actually voted UP n those deals. For example he posted 10 such spam posts, and number of +1 votes vs. number of -1 votes…
Yes, OzBargain does not have 24/7 moderators. However a lot of things are community moderated. So, is this case democracy gone wrong?! People actually voted up those spams?! Do note that for deals getting more -1 votes than +1 votes, they will actually hide from most people's view (unless you adjusted your minimal votes setting). Now I can't even rely on the community to automate some of the throttling and moderation?
Anyway. I'm putting in some throttling code tonight so users can't post more than x number of deals/forum topics per some time interval. We'll see how it works.
