Best Value Car Insurance for Rideshare?

Hi.

I'm looking around for quotes for rideshare to for didi. It ranges from 1.4k-1.9k.

Any tips or recommendations?
Bingle - 1.5k
NRMA - 1.6k
Ubi - 1.4k
NRMA - 1.6k
RACQ - 1.9k

Standard excess of 700. Similar market value of 15ish K. No optional extras.

Without rideshare I'm currently paying $700ish with bingle.

You are only going to find out the best value when (and if) you come to make a claim

  • I've a friend who is with NRMA. The vehicle insured is a 2019 Hyundai i30, insured for an agreed value of $23K. Premium is $950, excess ~$850. Age is 45+.

Didn't you buy a new BMW or Mercedes or something?

    • You remember me!

Yes I bought the 320i bmw deal from 2018. I've looked into doing uber black for the side hustle and for fun but worked out it's not worth it:

      • Higher mileage depreciates it even further
      • Cheapest insurance with rideshare I could find for it was 2.5k and ranges up to $5k vs. $705 currently with aami no rideshare [For those that doubt the cheap price or that I bought the bmw from that deal https://imgur.com/a/T3Z6iiM]. I'll need to make an additional 2.5k-5k annually to cover the insurance + additional 5k-15k due to depreciation for higher mileage. 4x earn rate doesnt compensate enough and is high risk.

I've got another reliable japanese car from 2008 that I planned to use for didi and can do the high mileage (unfortunately cant do uber due to age of car, but didi pays better for drivers).

  • I ended using bingle over ubi which uses an app to measure your drive behaviours. Dont want to be monitored.
