  • I was literally searching for AA batteries on ebay to take advantage of the $5 shopback deal, but this is so much cheaper than those on ebay!

Why wouldn't people subscribe and save then cancel everything?

    • +1

i just did. deliver every 6 months. though they don't guarantee the price so make sure you cancel for 6 months, they apparently send you an e-mail. can always return though if you cbf.

Cheers! AAA 24 pack is same price as well. Also down from $20. Also cheaper if you subscribe.

    • Thanks, bought a pack.

  • If you're not fussed on the brand, Woolies has a 24 pack of everready AA or AAA for $6.75 (online only)

It's not the brand that is the problem, it's that yours are super heavy duty and these are alkaline.

"Super heavy duty" sounds pretty sarcastic for carbon zinc chemistry lol.

    • Carbon zinc vs alkaline

      • Just googled your comment, insightful, thanks.

If you want cheaper, but still alkaline: Bunnings has 30 Varta for $9.92 here

Get some Eneloops and you don't need to buy batteries again for 15+ years.

  • Do these batteries have a use by date?

    • Says around 10 yrs.

Waiting for the next $2 Bonus Cashback….
I wonder how much the Shopback and Cashrewards business is valued these days… I will invest in their IPO if they have one.

  • Thanks. Good time

Buy rechargeable and reuse. Give it a go. Thanks

    • I seemed to have nothing but trouble with rechargeable AAs so I avoid purchasing anything powered by them these days. Lithium ion seems much more reliable although I am learning that even these (eg. Samsung INR18650-30Q 3000mAh) can have cells that go bad quickly and discharge themselves. Although the failure rate and longevity is probably still significantly better than Ni-MH.
