[Solved] Car Crash Results in Un-Openable Boot - Boot Light Still On

Hi all,

Unfortunately today, whilst driving, my car got crashed into along the highway (obligatory OzB MS Paint image).

As basketball rolled across the highway, I evaluated whether to go over the ball or not, slowed down and ended up getting rear-ended. I have dashcam footage and I am ok which is all that matters. The ambulance just happened to be there, witness the accident and gave a quick medical assessment.

Anyways, the boot is completely unopenable because of the damage and noticed the boot light has remained on.

Any ideas on turning the light off as I physically can't access the bulb? Googling hasn't yielded anything useful.

Thanks in advance OzB.

EDIT: Thanks to ezz88, removing the fuse was a simple solution. Thanks SKD for another option which would have worked too for sure.

    Disconnect the battery?

It's funny I did think of that but for some dumb reason dismissed it. Thanks!

Should have a fuse you can pull surely?

    • WINNER! Just checked the corresponding fuse, pulled it out and it worked. Consequently, all other cabin lighting doesn't work but that's fine with me.

Thanks heaps ezz. 1000 internet points for you today and an upvote.

  • Depending on the vehicle, could have dropped the rear seats and climbed in

Fuse is a good one though.

  • Le me
    Le Nub

I have to imagine you're using these ironically, yeah?
