Options for Advertising Rental Property on Domain and Realestate

I wanted to advertise my property for rent on domain.com.au and realestate.com.au.

I used rentbetter.com.au last time for $199.

Looks like: www.easysellrent.com.au charge $99 for same service.

Q1: Anyone know any other service or cheaper option?

Q2: I think we need AMA with property agent. I was curious on how this work. Directly advertising would certainly cost more than $99 on both platforms. Also, presumably its a straightforward site which talks to domain and real estate apis. I wonder why they are paying a middle man unnecessarily.

Why doing it yourself? RE Agents are the experts. The agent fees are tax deductible.

    • i have new apartment and managing for last couple of years. I haven't had any need for agent at all.

      • Fair enough.

Sounds like a nightmare to me :)

      • Then why need the AMA from an RE?

Can't have your cake and eat it too. As a professional (in another industry entirely) I'll be blunt and let you know we generally dislike DIYers who refuse to pay for actual services, but insist on asking for advice on how they can (try to, usually unsuccessfully) do our jobs without paying us.

        • That wasn't the intention. Not looking for advice for DIY.
I was curious on transparency on listing fees and process on Domain and Realestate as there seems to be massive discrepancy on pricing. Also, i was curious on how they feel on these disruptive service offered by online sites.

  • If you think they are cheaper with www.easysellrent.com.au, might as well use them.
It could be either, www.easysellrent.com.au has a deal going on with domain.com.au and realestate.com.au OR
    www.easysellrent.com.au, you get less features.

You could just email domain or realestate and ask them, why ?

  • Totally agree you can do it yourself and it is fairly straight forward once you read a few guidelines on what to do.

We have tried a bunch of these sites and use rentbetter because they offer a lot more service around the ads for completing applications and lease documents as well as help with checking the tenant. Also, we have tried a few cheaper options over the years, but always had issues with the enquiries not coming through, so we have just stuck with rent better as they are reliable and work for us each time.
