Had a look at Amazon.com & Ebay and pricing is still cheaper directly with the online store.
Just like watches, phones, sunglasses and shoes there are always going to be cheaper alternatives and everyone will have a different budget and view on what they consider to be "value".

This product isn't for everyone there is a decent discount and having a local online store presence in AU makes this slightly more affordable without the need to import from the US.

  • Damn, that 'Anchor spike' though…

  • That IS expensive !

  • +1

We're on our third one. They are nice but they're just not durable. Basic usage and they haven't lasted. Both times the internal metal arms have bent or snapped

    • Oh that sucks. Their description claims they are durable and last a life time hence the price.

      • Yeah, I ended up giving my wife my one and got a Blunt umbrella. It's just so much better. Not as fashionable, but way better design.

        • I've heard good things about them

    • Just as well I read this. Almost got fooled into buying thinking it would withstand strong winds

      • Yeah our first one broke on a very windy and wet day. I assumed it was my wife's fault until (on our new one) I went to close it on a normal wet still day it just wouldn't close. Tried to see why and using minimal force the arms sheared off. Now on our third.

        • Interested to know was the warranty repair/replacement easy or did they make you go through hoops?

          • @xecutor: They were fine. No contact but it was hassle free. They make you pay $15 postage for deliver to Adelaide
