Don't get so enthusiastic about this mate, it's Class 2 only, however, if speed doesn't concern you much then it's fine.

    • +1

Would these be good for the a car stereo?

      • +2

        yes definitely .

      • Didn't think of that!

    • +1

The ones in stock were class 4. At least the ones I managed to find in the store I went to.
SanDisk tend to underquote their class 2. I have SanDisk class 2 SD cards performaing better than Kingston ones.

      • +1

        +1 for Sandisk under quoting.
I often find their cards to perform faster than specified.

  • +5

I had to look up the other day what the whole Class thing meant. It tells you the minimum speed the card can read and write information. The classes are 2 4 6 10. 2 is the slowest. It will do Standard Definition video but if you want to do HD you are best to go for a Class 6 card.

    • thanks for sharing your research with other people who have no idea about what those class means.
2 is slow. i usually use class 4 for my dslr and HD filming. sure, you are "best" to go for a class 6 and someones may claim class 8 and above is even better for HD video. the fact is, for myself, class 4 suffices.

    • what's the sign that tell me it class ?

      • If you look at the card itself, the class is the large C eating the number.

  • Must be a store clearance deal as I just came back from Glebe Officework and there is nothing there. Most of the SDHC were Class 4. I saw about 4 people there enquiring about this deal as well, must have been Ozbargainers :P

    • Bit of an update. Went to Auburn Officework at 5pm yesterday to look at the 8GB Class 4 card and they seem to have no stock, Asked them stock level for other stores. Surpisingly Glebe Officework still have stock.

      Auburn: Sold Out
      Five Dock: 40
      Glebe: 37

indeed. a samsung 12MP cheaper than a toy camera

        • +2

I think my other half got the same camera, wasn't from Target by any chance? Hers is 12MP SAMSUNG also, pretty sure it cost $50. Was thinking of buying this card for hers also.

        • the samsung was from DSE $50 delivered. the 8GB card shows over 2000 photos available. good deal for $8

    • +2

Thanks for the late breaking input:p

  • +1

I can confirm that these are class 4 at OW. I bought a few yesterday. HD's got a wrong pic of the card. Good deal. OW advertises in their catalog for $28

  • +1

Just recorded a 5min AVCHD full HD video. The card card works perfect.

    • I don't see why it wouldn't. Even with a class 2, we can assume this will get at least 3MB/s write for a decent brand. That's about 24Mb/s.

      BTW, 8Mb (Megabits) = 1MB (Megabyte)

So this being a Sandisk Class 4, we can assume this will reach around 35Mb/s + in a decent camera. This card should be fine for shooting Full HD video.

  • should I buy one?! But my future iPad doesn't take SD card!
Maybe I should buy a Toshiba AT100 so I can stock up on these SD cards.
Good to see it's not an item that's already sold out before they put it in the catalogue clearance sale.

    • If it was on clearance, then you would all miss out, as all the OW happy staff campers would have snapped them up the day prior ;)

thats why you shouldnt get an ipad!!
