  • Only sells at JB Hifi. On a regular basis it goes up to its "normal price" of $99 and doesn't sell… and then drops "on sale" to $49 throughout the year.

Different retailers get slightly different models as an 'exclusive' (so you can't match price or easily compare specs).

Google their website. A ridiculous range of cheap drones, all slightly different but all selling at different retailers.

    Avoid.

  • I'd say Kmart's Syma X8 Clone is a better buy.

From that video it looks almost the same in terms of stability and hovering improvement being 200 m over 100m

Kmart version has live video the pulse does not.

For nine dollars extra it's a good extra set of features.
Flies well , it's amazing what such cheap drones can do compared to even 3 years ago, definitely looks like the camera needs to be super glued or hot glued at its mount to make the live video feed more stable

For those familiar with this, would $59 get you something better in eBay?

Have a look if you haven't already. You'll quickly see that these Zero-X drones get outspecced pretty quick.

I have nothing against the Zero-X drones themselves. At a $50 price point these are pretty much just radio control toys to muck around with.

My issue is around this bullcrap that they are actually $100 drones 'reduced' down to $50. They aren't.
They are getting around consumer law by actually trying to sell these drones at $100, for the explicit purpose of the 'half price' reductions throughout the year.

For $100 they are woefully underspecced and overpriced. For $50 they are marginally above valued, but for a stocking filler are ok…. especially if you can't wait for something to be shipped from OS.

If you can wait, buy a drone clone on ebay for around $75. You'll get something far more enjoyable to fly. It'll still be a cheap toy drone, but at least it'll likely perform better than these things.

Each to their own… but I promise you the Zero-X Pulse is NOT a $100 drone. Not even close.

Looks like they are following eBay with the price Jack then discounted price practice, but definitely cheap drones have allot of extras with only a few dollars more.
