How long does a filter last?
For me, with pretty regular use, up to 3 months. Mileage will vary of course :)
The package says only for 1 month from memory.
these bottles usually come with a timer that you manually reset after everytime you install a new filter. (they just time 1 month i think)
True. If find it still works fine for a period after it has "finished"/gone red. Depends on your water quality and use I guess.

Can you confirm what they do to your water measured at scientific levels.
These were so much cheaper overseas. I remember buying a years supply from Amazon UK one time and it ended up costing me $6 each delivered.
