For the month of December and November I've been getting 50% Uber premier, making it cheaper than UberX. I rang to find out how long the promotion was, and was told that the promo code had been applied on my account. I'm not sure that it will work at all for others, but the name suggests it might work if you're a platinum or diamond member on Uber rewards.

Confirmed working

Couple of interesting notes:
- Uber loses money on every single trip booked on this code, as their commission of 5-30% doesn't offset your discount
- You get 3x status credits on premier booking, so this is a really quick way to maintain/upgrade status (although the rewards program is pretty weak even at the diamond tier)
- there's a $50 cap on amount saved, however, you can overcome this by breaking up your trip, e.g. for my $200 trip I told the driver to stop and end the trip at the half way mark, and then I just commence a new trip. Because you are in close proximity to the driver (best to agree this with the driver beforehand in case your midpoint is somewhere without many Premiers), your next ride can begin immediately

    It says "Maximum promotional value is $50 per trip". Sorry, just trying to understand does this means that the discount is capped at $50 or the total trip should be less than $50.

      I think its 50% off, so $100 is max where you will get $50 off, for a $50 trip you'd only pay $25

      The discount cap is $50, so charges over $100 you will not be getting the discount - unless you use my method above :)

    Seems there's a max redemption set for this promo

    Code applied successfully but the prices have not changed, even though there is a tab saying "50% off Black and Premier". The prices are not showing up as discounted, normally when I add promotion codes the pre-discount price is struck through and the discount price is listed below it. Is anyone else seeing something different? Could very well be because I am not a rewards member (despite it accepting the code).

    Was working 30min ago showing 50% off Uber Premier, now it's not. The main screen still shows the offer, but the actual ride prices are back to normal.

    I suspect they've tweaked…..

      It loses them a LOT of money compared to typical discounts, which means its not beneficial to provide it to lower value customers.
