1- Cheapest way to travel to Melbourne airport?

If you're cheap, take the train to Broadmeadows station and then take an Uber to the airport. The Uber will be around 10 minutes and should cost you $15 or so.

If you're super cheap, take the train to Broadmeadows, then take the 901 bus which will take you around 30 mins to get the airport. The bus stops pretty close to T4 from memory, so if you're flying Tiger, you shouldn't have to walk too far.

2- how early we need to be in the airport for tigerair 7:30 am depart?

Depends if you have any checked baggage. If not, check in online and arrive at around 6.30am. Security in the domestic terminals are pretty quick.

3- cheapest way to get accommodation in Adelaide?

    Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, Trivago…etc.

4- cheapest car hire in Adelaide or the public transport will be alright?

As with most Australian cities, you'll need a car if you want to see all of the sights. I'd check with the regulars - Budget, Avis, Hertz, Europcar…etc.

I usually like BargainCarRentals, who seem to always work out cheaper than the rest. Depends if they're available in Adelaide.

  • Point 4 - public transport or car

Really depends on what you intend to do in terms of geography. If you will be staying within the CBD square mile and/or maybe Glenelg (which has a tram service and pretty frequent) then you can get away with public transport - the tram is free within the CBD as are a significant number of 'connector buses' which fill in gaps with the tram. If you intend to go to any wineries, Kangaroo Island or somewhere in the Adelaide Hills I would definitely plan on renting a car for that day/s.

  • 3 - tran station is open 24/7 to sleep at / parklands as its warm so you wont get cold

  • You could consider this depending where you will be travelling https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/Visitor-Pass-Campaign/Home

There is a bus from airport to city too this pass is available from ground floor arrivals.

  • I used the Virgin Australia car hire website a few months ago for a trip to Adelaide. I specifically used it because they give you 1000 Velocity points if you can find a cheaper price and I was very confident of being able to find a better price but couldn't. Total cost was $52 for 2 days car hire.

    Be prepared, weather next week:

    Mon: 37
    Tue: 42
    Wed: 42
    Thu: 41
Fri: (dunno, but we're all dead by then anyway)

  • Hi,

I did the Tiger flight to Adelaide ex Tullamarine the other week, exact same time etc.

Get on the Skybus at Southern Cross and prebook your Skybus Ticket online using the “MCEC5” promo code.
Tip: Bonus Velocity Points with Skybus Booking have your Velocity number ready to input.

You need to allow for People and queues at the Airport Security etc, so first thing is do your flight
Check-in online ahead of time and then it is locked in and done. That will also tell you what time you need to be at T4.

Web Check-In is available 72 hours prior to departure and closes 1 hour prior to departure.

So, allow getting to the Airport, Baggage Check and be warned they are weighing Carry On at the departure gate so, 7kg and they really mean it.

Look for Accom at City or maybe Glenelg so that you can easily get there from Adelaide Airport. You just need
an Adelaide Metrocard as mentioned in the post above.

The Jetbus will scoot you up to the City where there is CBD. Free Tram and some free Bus
    https://adelaidemetro.com.au/Timetables-Maps/Special-Service…
    or across to Glenelg.

So weather wise think somewhere with good air con and maybe Glenelg if you like the beach or perhaps somewhere with a Pool.
near Marion where there is the http://www.saaquatic.ymca.org.au/
Tip: this is near the Westfield Marion Shopping town so easy to shop as well.

    Special Bonus tip.
Other than online AdelaideMetro you need to go to Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace for local bus, train or tram info because they closed the AdelaideMetro Info Centre.

Why is OP going to Adelaide for 5 days without any knowledge of what to do, where to stay, how to get around, etc.?

It must have been a pretty cheap flight, but the costs are starting to mount up now.

    • My thoughts exactly

Adelaide Zoo is worth a visit for the pandas if they're still there

      • Plot twist: What if the Panda reverse engineer this thread and end up in Mordialloc,,,
