  • Why wouldn't you attach it to the car? That anchors it and gives you 1 less point of weakness. Not to mention you still need to power it, not sure how you thought of solving that.

Can only pull 900kgs from stopped, 2267kgs if rolling

    • I want to use it for multiple use cases and not just for the car.

Manual winch is called a tirfor.

Electric, not sure what they are called. Maybe an inline winch.

    Paint Drawing

I give you a 7/10. Well done. Keep up the effort.

  • Is this for vehicle recovery?

  • If that drawing is to scale, we can only assume that the car is the most predictable size reference.

That's a huge tree and a huge winch.

Your car's tyres and chassis will not be able to serve as an anchor.

    Cable puller? http://tiny.cc/eybnhz

1: Never put a cable around a tree.

2: Always use a tree protector.

    3: Always use a damper.

4: If it's car car type vehicle don't use the tie down points.

4: WHY do you want/need to winch it?

You want a tirfor, you also want a tree trunk protector and several rated d-shackles. Ensure your vehicle has recovery points that fit the d-shackles. Do not pull a vehicle by any point besides rated recovery points, you will damage it and create a dangerous situation.

I am a professional graphic designer and your "paint drawing" may have provided more clarity if your 5yo daughter did a finger painting.
Why don't you go to a 4X4 workshop. An automobile parts shop. Why are you asking silly questions here?

I would question whether or not that's how you treat potential clients or I'm guessing someone else deals with them. I understood from that diagram that they wanted a portable hand-winch (tirfor/comealong). Top up your empathy fluid.

    • I had no issue with the drawing and knew straight away that he wanted a tirfor winch and a few accessories.

Tirfor winch is what you are referencing. Tirfor is the original many brands copy this style of winch. Whilst very reliable, I had one of these and recently sold it. It is very hard work and likewise very very heavy so moving it in and out of your vehicle is tough along with actually using it the back and forth pump. Let's just say if you ever got stuck and had to use it, you will make sure you never get stuck ever again.

Go for a vehicle mount winch and save the money you will spend on this.

  • There are "winch in a box" setups but they are expensive. There's diy versions if you google for a while.
Could he handy if you want to winch from either end of a vehicle, or want to have one winch for multiple cars or uses.
