Dodgy Deals - Plasma mounting on Deals.com.au

Just bemused to come across this today:

http://deals.com.au/1835

Intrigued, I then went to the suppliers website and found this:

http://www.wavspecials.com.au/#!vstc0=installations

So the "deal" is $50 more than what is advertised on their site (from what I can tell it's for the same service). Is this type of thing kosher?

  • Wow, that was some good research on your part. The only difference I could see was the deals.com.au price included smaller and larger tvs. Not really $50 difference though…

  • deals.com.au are very dodgy in my opinion when it comes to pricing. They valued a 30 day keratin treatment at $700 or $800. Everywhere else charges about $300.

I just find the disregard by both deals and the supplier astounding. You'd think they would be smart enough to take down the existing deal off the website before the offer went live.

It just makes me wonder how many other deals are similar.

Wow! If only your facts were right before you go defamating peoples lively hood, their business that they take very seriously and put alot of hard work into. Back when the Deal went live… The current special that was on the website (and if you had have taken the time to read it correctly) yes stated that the tv sizes were different but also for $199.00 did not include a mounting bracket worth $89.00 or a HDMI Lead worth $80.00. Ahhh so yes the "Dodgy Deal" as you put wasn't so Dodgy after all!!

To everyone else that visits our website we are a highly reputable company that prides itself on quality and service. We offer completive, if not the best prices for our services in Melbourne.

      • I can only take your word that at the time the special didn't include the bracket and cable, and if so I apologise. However, the current deal on your site is still $50 cheaper than what the deals special was.

Also explain to me then how the deals special was worth $628 dollars (even if it did include the extra bracket and hdmi cable that still would only take it to $360). I'm not doubting that you provide a decent and worthwhile service, just wondering if it was really such a special.

      • LOL @ $80 HDMI cable..

  • One assumes that there is a cost associated with participation in all of the 'deal' sites…….

I'd be pretty cheesed off if I'd bought the 'deal' for $249, only to find out that the same deal was $50 cheaper a couple of weeks later.

for $199.00 did not include a mounting bracket worth $89.00 or a HDMI Lead worth $80.00.

I'd be interested to know how one could sell a tv mounting service that didn't include a mounting bracket… blu tack?
