[Switch] Super One More Jump: $1.99 (-75%), OTTTD $2.49 (-75%) @ Nintendo eShop

1150

It's me again. Your friendly neighborhood game developer with low price deals across all our Switch Games.

I mean it costs more for a bottle of water than some of these games! And you get water out of a tap!
You cant go to the tap and get Switch games :)

The ozbargain community was so supportive a few months ago I wanted to post again and say thanks
Plus earn all that cred!
(I also told other dev friends to post here in support so you know all the sales!)

The games!

Here's a playlist of reviews and trailers for the games: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKdcHHLIB5g7FKYK_sQBw…

Death Squared is our most popular game on Switch and is a 1,2-4 player co-op puzzle game. Great for the family this xmas. Even the grandparents can play as it's just UDLR to move and that's it. (And using brain to solve the puzzles)
https://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/titles/70010000000766

OTTTD is at it's highest discount ever *by a whopping 1%!) but all the others are pretty close to highest discount.
This is a tower defence/RTS/RPG style game. It's must more involved with damage types, weapons and armour to manage.
(Not for kids this one)

Super One More Jump was made by Premo Games (a duo from melbourne) and we published for them.
It's a one button frantic timing game that's perfect for the the "ohhh just one cheeky little game". It also has 2-4 player modes!
I dont think the grandparents could play this one. Unless it's one of those funky grandparents that actually have good reflexes.

If you have any questions about the games, or making games in general ask below!

FYI: Nintendo (like most estores) 30% of the cost so net result is we get just a little bit. But it all helps.

    • +2

      1% more than before!!! haha

OK I held off at 74% but 75%!!!!

  • +2

    Death Squared looks super fun!
    Bought, up-voted, thank you!

    • Legend. thanks!

  • +1

I'd already bought Death Squared and Super One More jump. I haven't had time to play them properly but they look great so picked up OTTTD. Thanks!

    • +2

No thank you for your hard earned cash!

      • +1

I've also signed up to hear about the new game & be a beta tester. Best of luck with it!

  • +3

Thanks for redirecting me here.. didn't know you had these other titles too. Gotta support the aussie devs and at this price was too good not to try them out. Picked them all up.

    • +2

      Awwww yisss!!

We ran an AUNZ sale in June this year and I hope to do that again in 2020 with even more of us Aussies.

  • +1

Collectors: Remember - Death Squared goes PHYSICAL early next year :-)

    • Oh yeah thanks! We're excited about this one too. The reason not taking orders directly yet is 1print want the game in hand to be 100% with everyone. I like that!

      • How would we go about getting a physical? And how big will the print run be? I already have all the games listed on my Switch, but a physical is tempting!

I'm just concerned that the price might be too high to justify for a game I already have and that scalping may lead to further inflation

        • +1

          Look/pre-order here.

Print size is rounded-up to the nearest 1,000 units at the time the pre-order window closes. By way of indication, Kero Blaster, is a 3,000 unit run.

      • +1

        Amen! :-)

I've got one of the original devs-signed code-in-box Switch versions (with the foil cover) from EB many eons ago. It remains THE ONLY code-in-box game in my collection.

I'd happily buy you drinks - or make a donation to your favourite charity to have the team sign my physical copy when it arrives. I'll commence desperation begging next year ;-)

        • +1

What state you in? if NSW can easily sign. If other could do a mail it to us, we sign and mail back?

          • @MrTruffle: I'm a NSW peep (Sydney)

            • @[Deactivated]: Too easy then. You can just drop by the studio in Ultimo (send us email etc) and we'll gladly sign anything*

              • you know what I mean :)
              • @MrTruffle: LMAO! You're at Ultimo? I'm a 10min walk away!

Of course….now I just need the publisher to get the carts made, cases assembled and shipped.

                • @[Deactivated]: Whoa! small world. OK send us email (it's on our site the biz one) and you can come pick up some plushies from the office tomorrow if you like? We're out of office from EOD tomorrow so last chance until jan

                  • @MrTruffle: Wow! That would be awesome. We'll do some "prisoner exchange" then…I have some corporate giftware loot I need to rehome, too ;-) SPOLIER: NO PLUSHIES.

  • +2

Looked at the trailer of Moving Out, really like it. Will buy when it releases.

Keep up the good work. Also, I purchased all of your titles :D

    • +1

Thanks! Moving Out we hope will be the big game we're known for. It's shaping up really solid

  • My switch has not arrived yet and looks like i can not buy OTTTD unless i login with a switch is that right or can i buy it online.

    • +1

Edit: Sorry, missed that the link was in the desc. Yes, you can buy it on the web.

  • +3

Should post this on the Nintendo Switch Club Australia FB page.. 😉

    • Ohh on it. I have to check with Admins first also

  • +3

Got all 3 of these in the last sale. Can highly recommend them all. Have spent hours playing death squared with my kids, great co-op game.

    • Ahh thanks. Research Q: Did the name "Death Squared" worried you for a game you can play with the kids?

  • +2

please release dlc called "Death Squaredning"

    • Ohh yeah. It'll have levels that take 2hrs to finish

  • +2

    Just bought OTTTD. Looks fun.

EDIT: Already have death squared and as comment below, be sure to have the right crowd when playing.

    • Thanks! Appreciate it

  • +2

Death Squared looks good! Might get it - great job! Will check out the others.

    • Thank you. For my own market research had you heard of the games before? I'm wondering how else we can get word out there besides sales

      • Nope never heard of before. I don’t play my Switch a lot, mainly got it to play with my partner as we’re long distance, so a co-op game is perfect for us. I don’t look out for games much, tbh the sale caught my eye the most, if that helps!

Super One More Jump looks a little hard for me haha so I might give that a skip!

  • +1

Can confirm, Death Squared and Super One More Jump are incredibly fun local multiplayer games. They can definitely get frustrating, so make sure you're playing with the right people.

    • for DS We've seen good results with grandparents playing with other generations. As it's one of the few games where you DONT need fast reflexes

  • +1

    Already got Death Squared
    Getting Super One More Jump.
OTTTD trailer didn’t really explain much except for the obvious title name I guess. Gonna need to check it out more.

    • Yeah it's a tower defence game which you can also control soldiers like an RTS. But if you dont like TD games then you wont like it much. But if you do then we're all good :)

  • +2

Death Squared is a FANTASTIC Co-Op game - played through it with my brother and had an awesome couple of hours, really bends your brain, feels very rewarding, got some good laughs out of it too!

    • thanks. I'm glad people pick up on the humor as that was my main contribution. Pat our lead dev made this awesome game and trolled people with some levels and I was like "Damn I need to do something… lets add a funny story!!" haha

  • +1

They all look interesting. I get an error code when trying to purchase stating I need to complete on switch. Kids won’t be cracking that open until the 25th. Can you keep the deal open until at least then?

    • +1

Yeah sale is on until Jan 8 so you're covered.

      Also lucky kids!

    • +1

Yeah. Nintendo is very controlling. I tried to activate the 12 free months of Nintendo Online subscription from Twitch a few months back even though I didn’t own a Switch at the time and it said I had to use an account that has previous logged into the Switch eShop to redeem.

  • +3

    Bought OTTTD and Death Squared.

I've found that many Switch eShop games with ultra discounts (70%-90% off) feel very superficial/shallow with seemingly little to no effort involved in development, and they got boring after less than 2 minutes of gameplay. So while they're cheap ($1 - $5), the value just isn't there when they're downloaded, played and deleted within 5 minutes. Sad!

Having said that, these games are awesome. I'm actually impressed with how fleshed out OTTTD is; character upgrades, mobs, levels, GUI, graphics, controls, all very well thought out. I like it's sense of humour too! Would definitely recommend. I'm yet to play Death Squared, but I'm looking forward to it when I visit family for Christmas.

Also very excited for Moving Out. I've showed the trailer to family/friends and they're excited too. Thanks SMG!

    • +1

Appreciate the feedback. OTTTD was actually our first game and had a lot of fun making it. We learned so much since then but it's still got a lot of work in there. We actually went waaaaay over time and budget on that one which is one big lesson we learned when a new team.

  • +1

Thanks, I already bought death squared at release and just picked up bought super one more jump and otttd. Given that I want to quit my job to focus on game dev in a couple of years, thought I'd support the current beggars before I become one :D

    • hahah thanks. Good luck with the dev journey! My first game was a flash game back in 1998!

  • +2

I got OTTTD a while ago at full price and it is a fun game that I can recommned for $9.99 so 75% off is a great deal.

    • Thank you!

  • +2

I own all three, and they're excellent games. Death Squared is a great co-op game (i.e., lots of yelling at the other people to just goddamn move to the right place oh gods you've killed me again, etc etc.)

One More Jump is delightfully frustrating too :)

    Looking forward to Moving Out.

    • thank you! We need more games to sell! :)

  • That Moveout game looks similar to overcooked, which is great! Will you be releasing it on Xbox?

    • Yes will be on all consoles at the same time.
It's similar to Overcooked but plays very different. We're also being published by Team17 so same team as OC

  • Bought death square and super one jump after watching the video on YouTube . I like to see my kinds frustrated playing switch :)

    • +1

I hate to admit that I spent a solid 15 minutes watching that video of someone playing Super One More Jump. It was oddly satisfying seeing them successfully complete a level.

      • hahah yeah if you get in the zone it can really be a zen like experience

        • +1

My kids loved the game especially the jump again. No arguing too.they are actually work together. It is a rare sight

  • +1

When is OTTTD 2 coming out?

    Make it an rpg please.

    Even better RTS diablo style

    • +1

Oh a game of that scale is scary!

Pat who made OTTTD is back from paternity leave in Feb and he's keen to prototype new ideas. So stay tuned :)

  • +2

Thanks! Bought OTTTD. Already have super one more jump. Great stuff. Go aussie devs!! :)

    • legend thanks!

  • +1

Hey. I'm about to buy a switch for my boy (honestly, it's not for me!) for Christmas, and these games look great. I know nothing about switches or the games btw. A couple of Q's if you don't mind:

    1. Game links say supported only by the Switch Pro controller. Will these games not work with the joycons in the box?

    2. You say that OTTTD is not for the kids, but it doesn't look too bad from what I've seen? Can you elaborate a bit? Is it just the 'shooting-teddy-bears' thing?

    • +3
      1. It’s just saying that other Nintendo accessories it supports is the Pro controller. Joy Cons will be fine.
    • +1

haha yeah I'm the same. I bought the Switch for the "family" hehehe

1: Oh yeah that means it SUPPORTS it vs ONLY usable. You'll be find with the joycons.
2: Oh depends on kids age. It has gibs/blood (which you can turn off) and no swearing. But it's all shooting and requires strategy etc. So if < 10 might be a bit much.

We have 10 dads and 1 mum on the team and we really want to make sure parents have all the info.

Death Squared is a good family game. As your play WITH each other vs against so problem solving with kids is fun. As they look at problems with new ideas. (I played Luigis Mansion 3 and my 7YO was solving the puzzles before me!)

  • +2

Bought death squared and otttd can't wait to play!

    • Thanks appreciate the support. Had you heard of the games before? (doing market research here haha)

      • Unfortunately I have not, but will definitely spread the word

  • +2

Bought all 3 to support local Dev’s and perfect for playing with my nephew while on holiday. Happy to do beta testing for upcoming games if there are openings :)

  • +2

WOW huge response everyone. FYI the eShop for AU sold 3-5x more copies than EU. And Australia is normally max 40% of the EU. So this is a win for OZbargain. Have to think how to thank the Ozbargain community?

  • +1

Hi, I’m not familiar with Nintendo switch but have just bought the latest switch which is wrapped under the tree.
I have a newbie question on these games mentioned above. IE Can I buy these games for my daughters yet to be opened switch or do you need them to be modified? If I can buy/use without modding the console and they are just downloaded to the console do I need to have a memory card or does the console already have internal memory to store these games? Can I buy now online and download to the console later?

Thanks, sorry for all the questions, just I’ve never used a switch before.
    Cheers

    • +1

Oh it's all done through the eShop which is pre-installed on the Switch. No modding needed.

You do need to add paypal or a CC to the account to buy the games.

Death Squared and Super One More Jump have free demos though so can try before you buy.

      Lucky kids!

      • Will they still be 75% off at Xmas or Boxing Day?

        • +2

Yes will be on sale until Jan 8.

  • Thanks! Death Squared for the kids.

    • +2

And the kids are loving it! Nice one SMG.

      • +1

Excellent. Please don't let them have all The fun :) it's a good game for families to play together

  • Last week of the sale. Thanks to everyone who supported us.
