I'd lean towards saying this would be a better buy than the similarly priced LG B9. Does anyone have an opinion otherwise?

  Based on picture quality, the GZ1000U beats the LG B9 hands down. If the TV OS and gaming functionality is important than go with the B9.
  
  Try to see them side by side running the same high res video clip on a 65" or larger. Choice will be easy afterwards. If the TV's aren't side by side, just ask the sales assistant at a store to run the same high res YouTube video for you on each TV and compare. In my opinion the GZ1000U should be matched against the C9. C9 will always be more expensive than the GZ1000U but dont forget that tvs are depreciating assets so you don't want to spend too much.
