  • Can you stream media via ethernet?

  • Hi Kirt, Ethernet is for BD Live, USB HDD or flash drive for media playback

    • OK cheers ; )

  • does it output 7.1 sound via hdmi and is is region changeable blu ray?

  • Yes 7.1ch via HDMI if your amp and movie supports it. Re Region can't answer this question as
it doesn't state region on back of player. Most likely locked..codes etc?

    • sweet, if this is region free or changeable then im in!

  • +1

    Can it record from DVB?

Isn't every Blu-ray player also a sort of media player? (minus the network)

IMHO, no point getting a STB if it will not allow at least to pause, and then skip commercials.

    • HD set top box..USB for media playback.

Perhaps some have media but not all from my research.

      • Can you test and let us know please?
I doubt, as PVR is written no where, it will not record that. Else it would have been a perfect thing to buy for this price.

        • Its a set top box. No record via USB only media playback

        • No doubt will come through in later models…I see no reason why it couldn't record it's more likely the old staggering release of technology.

  • Great unit for combined functionality. Its like WDTV Live with STB abd Blue Ray player.

  • Bluray multiregion?

    • Yes multiregion

  • general question - why aren't there more DVD/hd settopbox combo's?

    • IMO one function normally suffers when in combination with other devices. Also, if one function breaks (eg: DVD player), then you lose your STB whilst it's being repaired.

    • There are a few getting around such as Strong 6002.We're also getting a new Dgtec version shortly with HD tuner that has record to USB,EPG,timeshift, media player. This DVD version is region free $99 delivered

  • lots of comments but no votes

cuz lot's of questions about multiregion not been answered

      • We'll investigate this further but unfortunately I don't have the answer at the moment as I don't have OS Blurays here to test with. If I knew the answer it would be up here straight away

It's a new product and it doesn't specify region code on the back where they normally do nor does it mention in the manual about region etc….Having said this most of these type of players are locked to region 4 but have unlock codes which may be applicable to this model.

        • There is no region 4 for bluray. You mean DVD?
There are BD players where you can manually switch region between A,B and C, but I have not seen a truly multi-region one like you get for DVD.
When testing, be sure the disc is truly region-locked. Do not go by the label.

      • 100% multi region

  • does this play RMVB/RM files?

    • No real media support, media files tested Video: AVI, XVID, DIVX, MKV,TS,M2TS, VOB Music: MP3 Pictures: JPEG

      • need rmvb/rm supported device :(

        thanks anyway

  • I like the idea of an "all-in-one" box. Can any buyers attest to the quality of it?

  • Does it play 3D?
