  • Anything special about this backpack

    • +1

      nope

for the same sort of money I'd grab this:

      https://rushfaster.com.au/product/osprey/tropos-15-laptop-ba…

      • That seem more like a travel backpack and can fit more gear? I guess it's what you use it for. I use it for my daily laptop travels

        • +1

laptop sleeve size is the same on both which indicates similar footprint? osprey capacity is bigger and it has some compression straps to compensate. Osprey is lighter and has a better harness + ventilation.

I've also got a fair bit of crumpler gear.. use an old messenger as my daily small bag. Laptop bag for engineering / site work has been a TNF recon for 5+ years and it is now showing its age.. I load it up with laptop, water bottles, food, some tooling, books etc.

Depends what you do for work I guess :)

          • @Supercool: Osprey tropos is a better backpack, was deciding on both tropos and NF recon…then I walked into Anaconda and found the 40L Atlas from Blackwolf RRP $169.99, 10% price beat guarantee with snowys and got it for $98

I thought 40L would be massive but its about 34L with a compression zipper which expands to 40L. Very decent for light travel and daily commute.

            • @Chiemo: Yep I think so too, especially when it can be found cheaper than both the recon & nebula, with a higher RRP than the latter.

Blackwolf… They had this promo on years ago where if they published a travel pic of yours featuring their product you won some gear. Well, they published my pic and then dodged my emails and the gift. They lost me there. To be fair their gear isn't as good as the majors; IMO they are ambitious with their pricing.

Current NF Recon was bought by a former employer, IIRC it was ~$110 on clearance from rushfaster. I'm hanging back to see if new employer will buy my next 😉👍

    • For me this is ideal for me for work and business where I always carry a laptop around. It's not too bulky and has enough compartments for all my gear and then some. Also love my Crumpler gear

    • depends on what you look for in a backpack.

i don't want an excessively bulky bag, like heaps of compartments, low-key looks and double zips.

haven't bought one yet..waiting for price to come down a bit more lol

  • Would've been 20% further discount not 30 min with shop back: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/508452

    • Sad, won’t buy this

  • I bought the pro when shop back had 20%
