The best you can hope is 10% off by price matching and then paying using discounted gift cards. If you travel overseas, then there is extra 9.09% if you claim back GST but you will need family pooling to stay within the allowance when you bring the phone back.

  I was trying to find a store that is selling it slightly cheaper so I could price match with officeworks (so far they’re all the same price). JBhifi offered $50 off but I can’t use the verbal quote to price match.

    $50 off is good enough. Now it's a matter of getting discounted gift cards which can be accepted by JB.

    For $1,000 gift card purchase you'd get $100 in WW dollars. If you value WW dollar the same as AUD, it's effectively 9.09% discount on those gift cards.

Do Apple stores move on price at all? I recall they offered to price match a MacBook for me a few years back, but can you get any movement on phones without a price match?
