2000 points = $10? So it’s essentially 10% savings on those gift cards

    • +2

      Yep

    • Yep that's right. I've edited the deal to include this information. Thanks for the reminder!

It depends if you want to make your saving calculation accurate or not. I might be pushing the edge here but it should make sense to most people.
E.g All you want is the JB gift card balance:

      What you pay = $50

      What you get is
50 JB dollar (which can be easily purchased elsewhere for $47.5)
      And
1000 pts = 5 wws dollar (which can be easily purchased elsewhere for $4.75)

So essentially you are paying $50 for what worths $52.25, which should be 4.3% off only.

(Suncorp gift card program is for free)

      • To my understanding, you still get 9.5% off (the reward points is discounted by 5%) by using Ultimate gift card, instead of 5% off by using Suncorp's gift card.

Do you actually mean this deal has 4.3% extra discount over Suncorp's gift card?

        Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ouch, only 10 cards per member. But I got 20K to burn on my CC to buy those GC (sarcasm)😬 Still better than Flybuys Coles that only allows once per membership card though.

  • So how good are ultimate gift cards? Anyone used them before?

    • I've used them in JB before, no issues with using multiple cards in a go. Keep in mind that these are like EFTPOS cards, so I think they generally can't be used online

  • -1

Can i pay for this using GC?

    • No, Woolies stopped allowing the purchase of other gift cards with Woolworths eGift cards a fair while ago.

        Even at BigW ?

        • It's the same system, highly doubtful you can use it at Big W…

  • FYI, for Woolworths staff members, WoW Club has 10% off all gift cards until 9am tomorrow. Also has this 10 card limit, so if you wanted 20, good on you, but 10 from both would do it.

Thanks for this! I bought 19 (10 using mine, 9 using Mum's) and used it to get a iPhone 11 Pro 256GB from JB. Could only get them to go $1940 but happy with $1,750 (after the $190 saved).

    • Did you price match any retailer? How did you ask them to lower the price? Thanks

      • +1

Asked for the best they could do. Showed them people who had gotten $1849 and $1899 (here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498636) but he said he couldn't. The Gold one is out of stock in a lot of places and I couldn't be bothered running around waiting for stock to come back in the hopes I could MAYBE save an extra $50).

        • Thanks for the info

    • Wait what.. You can bargain the price from JB? This never crossed my mind.

  • Hmm should the bonus points be credited instantly? Just bought Ultimate for Home gift card but the points are not showing up in the receipt and woolworths rewards account :(

    • +1

Yes, looking at my docket, I believe it should show the number of points earned under the 'Points this shop' section. If you bought a $100 denomination and earned 2000 bonus points, the docket should also state that you've earned $10 off a future shop.

I believe the points should have also shown on-screen at check-out too.

Just confirming that you made your purchase at Big W and the docket shows that your rewards card was scanned?

      • Thanks GreenGuava, yeah I did make the purchase at Big W and the docket shows my rewards card number but not the points :(
The only thing I reckon may be related was that I made the purchase at self serve check-out, not sure if it makes any difference…

        • +2

It no longer shows the points available, it'll just show the $x0 amount of discount to be used the next day

        • +1

I don't think it would have been the self-checkout, as I used the same and did not run into any issues except needing the attendant to authorise/confirm the activation of the gift card during payment. If it helps, this is how the points appeared on my docket

@GreenGuava: Thanks again @GreenGuava and @cwongtech for the details!

          • @GreenGuava: Update: I have contacted Woolworths rewards support via online chat today and they have manually added the bonus points for me. Happy endings. ;) Thanks again for all the help!!
