Redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars for Gift Cards @ Everyday Rewards Online & App

730

For those who've got quite a balance of EDR$, there'd be a few - the Everyday Rewards app allows you to use your EDR$ to purchase gift cards. Arguably better than just redeeming $10 multiples at Woolies.

Tested across a few, looks to work on promotions (Woolies & BIG W) and other retailers (JB & IKEA).

Edit : available on both EDR website and app

Why is this a bargain ?????????

Boarder line PSA, but the option to rinse through discounted gift cards (which you can’t do in store) is handy for those who want more bang for buck.

      • -1

        is handy

Did you consider posting it on OzIsHandy ?

          Is that your OnlyFans jv?

          • +2

@whichtyler: You'll need to subscribe to find out.

    • This is great.

Currently you cannot send some of your points to Qantas (it's the whole balance or nothing). I found this out after dumping my Westpac points into it (planning for half to go to Qantas). Nowhere is this 100% only requirement mentioned on the Westpac portal (was about to lodge an AFCA case, as the two entities need to be transparent).

But now I can convert half to give cards, and the rest will go to Qantas.

….please tell me the giftcard rate is the same..ie. 2000pts/ $10?

      • Wait, is the requirement you're talking about imposed by Westpac or EDR or Qantas?

  • +9

It is to me. Never realised you could do that.

    • +2

It is a relatively new feature.

This only started when the Everyday Gifting store - where Everyday Rewards sell their gift cards - was launched in late September 2025.

It's still half a cent value

    • But it's half a cent that you can spend at IKEA or JB, not just at Woolies.

      • +1

I guess, probably because I never look past Qantas.

        • -1

I never see value in spending them with Qantas. Buying tickets on sale or flying with someone else almost always beats using points at Qantas.

          • +1

@tenpercent: I could never afford flying business with my own cash, with Qantas FF I have several times.

            • @Oh Daddy: Business class is over-rated. Maybe worth it if it's a long haul flight and you've got not rest time between arriving and going to the office.

              • @tenpercent: Only do long haul mate, 8h+ under that it's not worth using.

  • Do your EDR points fo further when you buy gift cards than redeeming on your shop?

  • +3

    Why is it better?

    • +32

I can think of a few reasons, but I have no idea whether any of these apply to you:

      • You can redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars on gift cards that are on sale and/or offering Everyday Rewards points on the Everyday Gifting store. For example, Everyday Rewards is selling the new Woolworths Supermarket & BIG W eGift Card at 3% off on this portal. That means you could turn $30 in Everyday Rewards Dollars into a $30.93 gift card redeemable at Woolworths or BIG W. (Woohoo, an extra $0.93…) The purchase of that $30.93 gift card also will earn you 30 Everyday Rewards points (again, woohoo…).

      • Everyday Rewards Dollars can only be redeemed in multiples of $10, but the gift card you purchase using those Everyday Rewards Dollars does not have that same restriction. If you are someone like me who frequently does small shops <$10 at Woolworths, I would never be able to use Everyday Rewards Dollars, but if I bought a Woolworths Supermarket & BIG W eGift Card first, I could effectively use those Everyday Rewards Dollars on those small shops.

      • If you have multiple Everyday Rewards accounts, this allows you to redeem the Everyday Rewards Dollars into gift cards that can be redeemed on the Everyday Rewards account with the best offer at that time. I have access to a few accounts: for example, my main Everyday Rewards account has some Everyday Rewards Dollars, but my housemate has a 10% off monthly discount on their account. This change now means I can redeem Everyday Rewards Dollars from the main account and then use it on my housemate's account on the 10% off monthly shop.

      • You can convert Everyday Rewards Dollars into a gift card that can be spent outside of the Everyday Rewards ecosystem. For example, Everyday Rewards Dollars cannot redeemed at EG Ampol service stations in Tasmania, as those service stations have always been excluded from the Everyday Rewards program. However, if I convert my Everyday Rewards Dollars into Everyday WISH gift cards, I can then redeem that Everyday WISH gift card at those service stations.1 Another example: if I have a few Everyday Rewards Dollars kicking around and I wanted to purchase something at JB Hi-Fi, I could just convert my Everyday Rewards Dollars into a JB Hi-Fi gift card, an Ultimate Everyone gift card, etc.2

      • This change allows you to turn your Everyday Rewards Dollars into a gift card that you can give to someone as a gift. (I feel as though this is a weak answer for OzBargain…)

      1. I doubt I would do this myself, as I would probably be better off purchasing discounted AmpolCash gift cards.

      2. I also doubt I would do this myself, because of the frequency of TCN and Ultimate gift card deals featuring JB Hi-Fi, but that is me!

      • +4

Also more secure than leaving a large balance of points in your account. Gc’s less likely to get hacked than your edr account (unless they increase/d security measures)

        • +1

Why would you have a large balance in the first place? Is this for people who don't shop at woolworths?

          • @fredblogs: I've got $310, I keep changing to bank for Christmas as they give me a 2000 points booster. And then I have to make my 28d monthly spend so i just don't use it if I haven't made it

            • @MeesusEff: I think you can change it back though after you get the 2000 points (I did that)

              • @fredblogs: There was one time where I completed my shop, got receipt, and later when I checked my points balance somehow the person who went to the same self checkout after me used my rewards points. Nfi how as I definitely didn't swipe again after my receipt. So its probably safer for me to convert it to gc

          • @fredblogs: Large = > $10
I once gathered $60 worth of points with offers. As soon as they landed in my account some one from Melbourne redeemed them.

      • Spoiler alert, Woolies don't really have a so-called W&B gift card. So take a wild guess what it might be :)

        • I wish I could guess which one it might be.

          • @WookieMonster: Actually I also doubt if the expiry is real or not. Might just be there for shown but no point risking it though.

            • @timedzone: It is probably real.

There are some other gift cards issued by Woolworths Group that have expiry dates. For example:

              • Bonus Store gift cards (e.g. Woolworths Supermarket Bonus Store, BIG W Bonus Store, WISH Bonus Store) can have 3, 6 or 12 months expiry, but the only expiry dates I have seen on these gift cards in recent times is 3 months. I just tried to check the balance here for the $10 Woolworths Supermarket Bonus Store gift card I bought through this deal and it was unable to process my request, but I was able to check the balance of the $100 Woolworths Supermarket gift card from the same deal. Next time I am at a Woolworths or BIG W, I may actually attempt to check the balance of that $10 gift card to see how the checkout reacts…

              • Returns gift cards have a 99 year expiry, but I doubt I will be around long enough to test whether that expiry date is enforced lol

              • +1

@WookieMonster: The 3 year expiry shows up on the everyday gifting website but not the old woolies gc balance check website. So better be safe than sorry.

I have also just tried the 3% card at an eg ampol today, interestingly it was declined with an insufficient balance (bal showing up as $0). It works fine at BWS and Dan, so maybe they are indeed making a new kind of card, just not properly implemented the restrictions at all Woolworths group merchants yet.

      • Oh the point of using it with several accounts is genius. I'll have to use that whenever Woolies starts offering compelling deals again - Coles has been non stop for the past couple of months

      • Just thinking about the second point you've made. Unless I am mistaken, it seems the minimum amount for the new gift card is $25? So you would need to bank a lot more than the usual 2000 to redeem it for this

        • True, and I have a lot more than 2000 points banked at the moment.

The alternative is another Woolworths Group & Partner gift card (e.g. Everyday WISH gift card), which all have a $5 minimum. It would mean missing out on the 3% off offer though…

    • Bonus points?

  • +2

Is it only online. Be good if you could buy the gift cards when on promotion in store

  • Title sounds a bit misleading. Does OP mean you can redeem your ER dollars in the app for gift cards? You definitely can not do this in store.

    • Fixed, post did mention app

      • +3

It also works on the Everyday Rewards website because the new Everyday Gifting store is the same for both the app and website. The old Woolworths Gift Cards website is being shut down.

      • OK, well in that case, it's an amazing offer.

  • That’s good to know. Saved 3% and used my reward Dollars. Wasn’t aware of that.

  • How do you use your ER dollars to pay? It doesn’t show this option to me, it just wants to charge my credit card.

    • +3

Is your Everyday Rewards redemption option set to Money Off Shopping and are your Everyday Rewards Dollars unlocked for redemption?

      • +2

I just tried this. I had to switch to "Automatic Savings" from my Bank for Christmas. Then the option to get gift cards using my EDR$ is enabled.

        • +2

Ahhh good point, I forgot Everyday Rewards changed the name of the Money Off Shopping option to Automatic Savings.

    • +1

Have to unlock Rewards Dollars first
Requires "your Everyday Rewards Dollars are not locked away"

  • -1

doesn't work on the app. They must've patched it up already.

    • +2

Used it no problems on app.

      Are you Rewards Dollars locked?
Requires "your Everyday Rewards Dollars are not locked away" - ie set to Money Off Shopping
No option shows to redeem if locked.

      • -1

We tried twice just then. Both orders went through and got cancelled right away. And everyday dollars back into account.
Thanks for the negative (whatever that was)….

        • Your claim "it doesn't work on the app. They must've patched it up already" is incorrect & misleading!

This is a new part of Rewards - designed to use Rewards Dollars to sell gift cards.
No sign it was patched! Still works.

          Try again later.
          App can have some issues.
Worked for me on 2 accounts.

    • I think it is just a bit finicky. I have a few accounts that defiantly not giving me the option to redeem edr$. (while the other hundreds of accounts work perfectly fine)

  • Thank you, that’s great. I had no idea. I know you get the same value but it nice to spend it elsewhere.

  • I already have everyday grifting

  • Where do I pay with my points, i cant see points as an option., only everyday pay or paypal?

    • Already discussed in comments.

  • about time, i gave up on woolies as couldn't get gift cards with my points.. now i just do it with flybuys at xmas

  • Sorry $10 for 2000

  • Isn’t showing reward points as a payment method

  • Just use this to buy an Apple GC with EDR points, thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP
