While this certainly is a good deal I'd much prefer buying from a physical store especially for high ticketed items such as this.

None the less +1 for me… although I do remember this deal being posted in the past.

    Edit: Found it :D: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/48906

Ouch! It appears that 'GreysOnline' have a poor rep around here.

  • I personally wouldn't touch anything that is HP/refurbed/from graysonline

    • graysonline = BAN

  • "NOTE : These are "refurbs" in some way"

    A motherboard replacement isn't a refurb?

"These have been expertly installed by an Authorised HP Repair Centre on behalf of Grays Online."

    Maybe?

I like HP laptops but Greys auctions, no thanks… Pass.

  • Old overheating i7 and mobo refurbished? Pass

  • +4

Bought a HP refurb from Grays once, it would boot and then die every time. They refused a refund on the basis it had booted successfully as such was not DOA and as such it needed to be repaired. After a long battle I got a refund after threatening to go to Fair Trading as the machine was not fit for purpose, ie stay on for more than 5 minutes. How this machine got past an allegedly qualified technician still confounds me.

    • Graysonline once sent me a small form PC with a missing hard to find cable that connected to the DVD-RW and this supposed to pass their technician quality check. When I rang them, they blame me for the missing part. I end up buying the component from manufacturer directly rather than dealing with Graysonline again as they are staff by a bunch of monkeys and laughable and seems like it has not changed.

HP. Pass. Add in refurb, intel recall, and Grays and it all becomes an unacceptable risk.

  • Refurbished in title please.no deal.

  • +2

    HP, no thanks.
    Graysonline, no thanks.

  • Ref, Pass. First time I see "Reworked" condition as well… interesting.

  • Good deal - but I'll never touch HP again. They rank highest in failure rates on Laptops.

  • Saw this the other day and thought not…OW pricematch anytime…always happy to take a return should something not be up to scratch.

  • Man people keep posting HP laptops (have one hate it) prefer other brands than HP
