I'm kinda bummed I got it free with PS Plus. It's a great game, but seems I can't buy it so i'll always need an active PS Plus subscription if I want to play it.
That actually seems really strange. Surely there's a way around it?

Once you get a game free with PS+, you're not able to purchase it because it's already linked to your account.
The only way I can think of is to buy it on another account or buying the physical version. But yes, you're right, you'd need PS+ to play it online anyways. Definitely worth $13.95 though!
But if you want to play the game online you need an active subscription.
Worth every cent.

Great game used to play fifa for 9ish months of the year…. rocket league is all I play in terms of sport style games. Own it on ps4, xbo, pc and Switch. Play it more on Xbox…. but my Switch win ratio is the highest at 86%. The pro controller helps control the car better and the low frame rate helps too.
Okay, I have several questions.
First, what is your rank? 86% win rate is abnormally high even unless you are just playing casual after acquiring high ranks on the other platforms
Also, are you aware the switch version still runs at 60fps? The same as your Xbox?
It doesnt feel like 60fps to me (certainly not a smooth fps), especially when docked!! Runs a bit too choppy. In terms of rank, I don't focus too much on competitive mode on the Switch (wonky wifi). I tend to play 1 on 1 competitively more than any other mode on the xbox.
Have you got the game set to performance or quality? The game has a performance mode where the game runs at a dynamic 900p to maintain a high frame rate, and a quality mode where it runs at 1080p30fps if you prefer the visual effects for some reason.
The only time I notice frame drops in switch is when someone is using the Slash Beam III boost or a very animated goal explosion
I made it to Grand champion few times. This season I was on a hot streak….made it 8 wins on GC. Then I lost about 10 out of 15 games barely hanging on to P3Div1 :(

Pretty much all i play on the switch, online mode - casual only.
Been playing it since it came out, have around 2000 hours on it. My advice is to get it on steam rather then console. Especially if u have a 144hz monitor the difference is huge. Console has input lag depending on the tv and wont ever match up to pc
Yeah okay, all us console players will just go buy a $1500 PC to play a $15 game. Nice.
Also playing on Switch, the input lag is almost non existent to my eyes. I've done a fair bit of testing and surprised at how well it actually holds up
Lmao may wanna check your prices mate. I upgraded for far less then that. And 144hz isnt a prerequisite but any monitor will be vastly better then a HD TV is what I meant.
So how much are we looking at paying to play Rocket League at 144hz then?

Too bad the latest update with blueprints have ruined the value of rare items. Great game though.
Blueprints update does suck, but only ruins the cosmetic side of things. As someone who never trades, most of my inventory is just cosmetics from rocket passes and limited time events
In my mind, everyone should have Rocket League by now. I understand this isn't the case, so if you're one of those who don't have it, but are considering it, here are my tips:
Don't get discouraged by the initial difficulty of the game. Rocket League is HARD for beginners. I'm 700+ hours in on Switch and only now just getting the hang of dribbling around defenders.
Find a friend to play with roughly around your skill level. This will encourage you to both play and improve together and eventually assist you when you want to venture away from casual games to acquire competitive ranks where, imo, the game is more fun.
Be aware this game can become very, VERY frustrating. To avoid this being a major factor, remember to utilise the training ground and packs available in game as a warm up to playing competitively.
Finally, remember this is a FULL cross-platform compatible game so you can play with your friends even if they're on Switch, PC or Xbox with your PS4 version.
This is probably my favourite game of all time and definitely the one I've sunk most hours into, so enjoy!
