Currently at their lowest Amazon price according to camel. From price history the standard price is $260, with occasional drops to a more reasonable $210-220, but from what I can see they haven't been this low before.

RRP is $159 USD so around $225 AUD currently.

Also currently $119 USD on Amazon US, which might work out cheaper for you if you don't have to pay currency conversion fees.

Unlike the Etymotic ER3 and ER4 series these use a dynamic driver instead of a balanced armature. That is probably why they are half the price of the ER4. Sound wise many people compare them favourably to the ER3 and ER4, with some preferring the sound signature of the ER2.

They have sound isolation that you will likely find hard to beat, the 'cost' of which is that their tips should be deeply inserted which some may find uncomfortable.

Out of stock but you can still order, in stock January 9th. Dropped from $199 to $189 overnight so it might still come done more if you want to risk it.

EDIT: I expired this as the price went back up, but now it has come back down. It has been quite erratic recently so I will leave unexpired for now.

Looks like these might tickle your eardrums

  • The er6i were the best in ears I had ever owned. I'm going to assume these are just as good.
