Going to Legoland Malaysia- advice

I’m taking the family to Legoland Malaysia. I booked a cheap apartment nearby there. We’re staying for a week though, my question is what else is there to do around there and if staying at Legoland is too far away from other fun things? Any advice from others who’ve done it before would be appreciated

We did Legoland MY earlier this year and decided to stay in SG as there wasn't much else we wanted to do in JB. We took a day trip out to Legoland and it's pretty small, did it all in 7 hours (granted, it was very quiet at the time so no queues for anything). The Waterpark is separate which you can spend another day there. I was going to say you can also check out Sanrio's Hello Kitty Town but Google seems to indicate it's closed down.

I’m from JB, and even I don’t like to stay there when I go back. Stay in Singapore

  • Watch out for petty crimes such as snatch thieves, haunted hotels, crappy traffic/transportation and awesome food!

Have also stayed in Johor to go to LL. Would do again, but not much to Besides that. Would take train into SG after that

  • Bring a spare large empty luggage bag.

  • Haven't been to Legoland but have been to Johor Bahru. If you've never been to 'rural' Malaysia, keep your expectations low. Tioman island is quite beautiful, but it's a long bus ride to Mersing from JB, then you'll probably have to stay in Mersing for the night, then take a ferry the next morning. Singapore is much closer but personally I find it extremely boring.

  • Having done the whole Legoland thing, the same as others have said here… stay and enjoy Singapore, go to LL as a day trip.

    • Thanks guys, will do

  • Another thing to mention, there’s a lot of theft at LegoLand. Last time I was speaking to my cousin about it, said the workers go through the lockers.

    • Ugh that sucks
