[NSW, VIC] Fresh Strawberry Punnet 250g $1.50 @ Woolworths

1150

Enjoy :)

Look for bright coloured firm strawberries with no soft patches or blemishes. Strawberries can be stored in the fridge for 2 to 3 days. Wash strawberries before slicing away their green stalks to prevent water from penetrating the fruit. Place into a bowl of water then lift out and drain on paper towels.

    They look and smell good!

  • It's $2.50/punnet in SA. Needed to login before the "real" price would show up.

        Is this really necessary?

Wash your strawberries in a pot of water with half a cup of vinegar.
    Then rinse in a colander.
Air dry them on a paper towel and then store in the fridge in an air tight container surrounded by dry paper towels.
They'll last a week or more no problems.

Comments about smoke free are not cool.

Thanks for the post. Great price and on my shopping list.

I've been chopping them up then freezing and blending with a tiny bit of milk to make the nicest strawberry icecream/thickshakes depending on how much milk you put in. Great price OP.

Dont forget the ice cream :D
(Or natural yoghurt for those being healthy)

      • The funny thing is it doesn't need icecream or yoghurt!! It essentially makes an icecream itself, I find!

  • Green is good for you.

  • AM wondering if they taste like strawberries or Stray Berries or rawberrys. The last time I bought a punnet of ripe strawberrys was in 2012

    • Picked up a punnet yesterday. Very nice, if slightly tart. Ripe, but not over-ripe.

I went to a juice shop today they had a large bowl of ripe strawberries so I asked for a watermelon and strawberry juice. They said no you have to buy a smoothie. So I asked for the strawberry smoothie on the list. She got a big piece of watermelon, 2 slices of mango and added one tiny strawberry. I then saw her acting suss and I belive she took out the strawberry because I couldnt taste it at all. I was pretty mad. So I will buy a punnet just so I can get my missing strawberry, and they are nice in a smoothie but I cant make one

one day I will go back there and just ask for a strawberry smoothie. Got a feeling they will say no, they dont seem to want to use them, just keep them in the bowl

      • Maybe they're one of those Japanese food replicas :D I wouldn't go back there if the store is that unfriendly and shortchange customers. Strawberry smoothie with very little strawberry ain't a strawberry smoothie.

  • I bought a couple of punnets a few days ago for $2 each and they were sour-as…

    Do these come with needles?

  • 'Strawberries can be stored in the fridge for 2 to 3 days'. Those are rookie numbers!
